Liar. I am neither pro abortion (birth control isnt abortion and neither is sterilization, you don't seem to know the difference) and because i would feed the child of a young women talked out of abortion instead of letting it starve once its born and then calling her a whore who should get no help, means i'm a socialist now?

Something is really wrong with you.

I know you to be pro-life Angel and support you in that cause as I do all pro-lifers. That being said, I would amend your sweeping statement that birth control isn't abortion because in the most popular application, the pill, it most certainly is abortion. It does not prevent the fertilization of the ovum, only prevents its seating in the uterine wall. There are other forms of birth control, however, that aren't abortifacient. It's sad that many people are too bloomin' lazy to use those forms but that would require responsible sex and well...you know.

She is neither pro-abortion nor a socialist.
Anyone that wants a corrupt governmental group to steal from folks to provide for others is a socialist.

Renaming stealing to taxing isn't helping.
A rose by any other name is still a rose.

I also believe we should share with others. But how many people can afford to help someone with their rent or mortgage payments?
Your "sharing" should be from the heart, not from a corrupt governmental group set up to steal from folks.

Having your money forcibly taken from you is not "sharing".
One can only share what they already have. And it should be their choice of who and when they share what they have.

He may be referring to this thread: http://www.theologyonline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3551681&postcount=117

Some people consider your position on abortion in the case of rape as "pro-abortion with exceptions."

I wasn't arguing for rape - but life of the mother, a very tiny 11 year old girl who doctors said wasn't capable of carrying a baby.

Too bad people cant read. Mothers lives were saved when no other option was available BEFORE abortion was legal. That is the ONLY case where pregnancy termination is ok with me, that doesnt make me pro abortion at all.

A few people keep lying about my position.

Where did i say thats what i want? A lot of misrepresentation happening. Why do i "support" something because i don't begrudge something? Also welfare and foodstamps are NOT the same thing either. I dont think cash payments should be given to anyone (which is what welfare is).

Ideally the church should be taking care of people who need help, too bad it isnt doing part of its job.

I can sympathize with her concern, but yeah, wanting to murder a child because of rape is not pro-life.

And since i never took such a position, people are running with lies. What i dont believe in is killing the mother and the child when all other options have been tried and the life of the mother is at risk.

PS didnt you say something about misrepresentation earlier? This looks like deliberate misrepresentation of my opinion to me.

I don't think they should be made to take a drug test to get... I guess food stamps (?).

But I don't feel any gov aid should be contingent on such a test.

the $$ belongs to we the people anyway... it is not "THEIR" money...

Convince me that there should be any individual on governmental "welfare"? Where is family, neighbor, benefactor........ "c"hurch?

socialist
ˈsəʊʃ(ə)lɪst,ˈsəʊʃəlɪst
noun
1. a person who advocates or practises socialism.

so·cial·ism (sō′shə-lĭz′əm)
noun

1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which the means of production are collectively owned but a completely classless society has not yet been achieved.

I don't support either, so it appears that even though I support universal healthcare and welfare for those in need I am not a socialist. Unless one wishes to argue with the dictionary?

for the OP - personally, i am convinced. i know for a fact, in my area, drugs and welfare, foodstamps, "public assistance" go hand in hand. un-cheatable drug tests are easily available and CHEAP, compared to the FRAUD. if one is clean. hair sample should be "no problem", among other conclusive "tests". if or when, substance abusers are refused access to "FREE" - America would be much better -

And in this answer to the op is why I ask. Only God's people find these cheap people, those abusers of cheap tests, to share the gospel. Calvinism might not be known for it now, it will be. :)

I agree with you, we should be nice to people. I also believe we should share with others. But how many people can afford to help someone with their rent or mortgage payments?

Not many, but we can usually find a blanket and some food for our friends and relatives when they are in need. I can't even count the number of people who have camped out with me until their ship came in. I kinda figure most people don't really need the material possessions they think they can't live without. My advice is always to lighten the load. ;)

That is very good of you, GD. I absolutely can't fault you for that. Unfortunately, many people don't have the luxury of friends who would do that for them.

So far, no one has saved any money by drug testing applicants for SNAP benefits, because it is far more costly than the benefits themselves. But beyond that, say someone fails the test. Then what? Tell them they can't eat?

He's pathological and seriously troubled. Oh, did you check out the message he gave to the mods when he reported your post? Priceless.

Don't let him get to you. You and I might disagree but I've never doubted your integrity.

"Nuance," "reality," "compassion," and the like don't seem to be part of their vocabulary. You're dealing with what I call pro-life McCarthyites who'd rather destroy the entire pro-life movement if they don't get their way than acknowledge the issue actually requires something more than the same old talking points.

I still want to see BMI as a means test for food stamps and welfare, and I don't think I'm being unreasonable in that.
