You are ignorant and a brawler.

I gave you scripture that we are spirit and flesh.

We are spirit, we have a flesh body, and we have a soul. Three in one, created in the image of God, the Trinity.

I gave you scripture that says our spirit is inside of our physical body.

"Our spirit is inside of our physical body" does not contradict this:

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. - 2 Corinthians 5:1-5 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Corinthians5:1-5&version=NKJV

You say the Bible says we are spirit living in flesh.

Because it does, see the passage I just quoted.

That flesh IS OUR BODY.

No argument there. We can live without our bodies. Our bodies do not make up our likeness, only our image.

You also say it does not say that we have a spirit living inside us other than the Holy Spirit.

Correct. What's your point?

Correct. What's your point?

Go think about it some more.

Every time you post it looks like you agree with me a little more.

You have one more thing to work on, and that is saying we only have the Holy Spirit and not our spirit.

WE. ARE. SPIRIT. AND. FLESH.

The saved receive the Holy Spirit to live with us.

You need to stop merely saying what some mistaken man told you.

We have a physical body MADE ALIVE by our SPIRIT, and our spirit makes our body ALIVE, which is then called a living soul.

I agree with some of what you're saying because it matches with scripture. But you then take it and try to make it support your belief that we are flesh and spirit, and that's just not true. We are spirit creatures, living inside a fleshy tent, and we have a soul that helps us relate to one another.

Our mind, our feelings, our conscious, that is our spirit. If anyone gets a modern English version Bible, you can easily see that whenever the bible talks about our soul, it is at that time concerned with our living body (our physical living body with its spirit).
Whenever the bible talks about our spirit, it is concentrating on our spirit, our spirit whether in our body or out of our body.
Whenever the bible talks about our body, it is speaking of a living physical body or a dead physical body.
A soul is a physical body alive with a spirit. The body is dead without the spirit (James 2:26), and the spirit lives on after death of the body.

Refer to 1 Thessalonians. We can see that God will sanctify us through and through, our whole spirit (spirit without a body), soul (spirit and body together), and our body (with or without our spirit/dead or alive). God truly sanctifies us through and through.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You need to stop merely saying what some mistaken man told you.

This is what the Bible teaches, not just what some man (and I know you mean Pastor Enyart) teaches.

It's also what most Biblical scholars believe.

We have a physical body MADE ALIVE by our SPIRIT, and our spirit makes our body ALIVE,

Again, no disagreement on this point.

which is then called a living soul.

Let me try another approach:

Are insects alive?

That scripture is about losing our physical flesh body and being naked, just in our spirit, and longing for a new body, which will be a spiritual physical body, meaning it will not be a body of flesh that gets old and decays.

I see the name Bob Enyart when I come to TOL, but I do not know what he teaches or who he is.

GT, you're contradicting yourself, but half the time, you're stating my side of the argument.

You are not speaking the truth about me.

I do not contradict myself.

I have been debating this topic for many years and am not changing my beliefs tonight as we debate.
Show's how hardened you are in your heart towards learning truth...

Everything you said in your above post does not contradict my post you quoted.

However, it does contradict what you said prior.

You are a false accuser. Show me where you learned something from me, or prove it is you who is a hypocrite with a hardened heart.

No, Jesus came in the likeness of man...in the form of a servant.

You play fast and loose with these words just like you do the word "repent". :nono:

You have not disproved anything that I said.

Jesus is God and came as a Man with flesh that will die.

Romans 8:3 For what was impossible to the Law--powerless as it was because it acted through frail humanity--God effected. Sending His own Son in a body like that of sinful human nature and as a sacrifice for sin, He pronounced sentence upon sin in human nature;

Nothing wrong with that.

Literal lunatic
and God's Truth

If it is the case that Stephen did not see a vision but was actually seeing a geographical localized setting on a literal throne in heaven and that he was actually seeing the Father GOD, then what Stephen saw was finite. GOD is infinite being and became finite/limited in the Son Jesus Christ. The Father remains infinite and ubiquitous.

If Stephen actually saw something tangible that symbolized GOD the Father then it was His Glory, as it says, and that would be brilliant focalized light. I can accept that but still that would be a symbolic representation. GOD is infinite being.

Stephen actually says that he saw GOD's Glory and Jesus standing at His right hand. This is the only acceptable way, to me, that the sighting could be literal.

But to think that Stephen saw the man Christ and at the same time saw another one that looked like a man representing the Father is to move from Theism into Polytheism, which is unacceptable.

Kool.

I purdy much caint tolerate isms either.

We are made in God's image. We look like God.

That's not a correct logical assumption. "Image" does not necessarily means "looks like." For example,

Colossians 1:15 KJV
(15) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

So how is Jesus the image of the invisible God, who by definition, is not bound by any physical look? What color is God's hair then?
a) Brown or black, as Jesus likely had
b) White like wool, as he appeared in Revelation
c) However he chooses to appear at any given time

Jesus is the image of the invisible God in some way other than physical appearance (which would be inapplicable, by definition.)

We are created in the image of the invisible God in some other way than physical appearance. God is a spirit (by definition, see the gospel of John) so in what other ways can a thing be made in the image of its creator?
