ECT Can you be a Christian and not go to church?

Yes

Scripture speaks of gathering in God's name so I see nothing inherently anti-biblical. Until religion gets involved.

Fellowship with like minded people. Support. Prayer. Friendship. Judgement. Condemnation. Hate. There are many things you can find in a church. Some are good. Many are evil.

If many of the things found in a church are evil, is there any better option for a Christian?

Can you be a Christian and not go to church?

Is going to church Biblical or anti-Biblical?

Eph. 4:11-12
" And He Himself gave some to be apostles , some prophets , some evangelists , and some pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry , for the edifying of the body of Christ ."

So we as the called of God are one of two things . We are either one of these gifted teachers or we are being perfected by one of these gifted teachers .

I've known one of these gifted teachers in my 32 years in Christ . The problem is everyone wants to be the gifted teacher , and nobody wants to be perfected by anyone. Todays church thinks they should be self taught , with personal revelations from the Holy Spirit . Doesn't work that way .

But as for the OP . We don't go to church , we are the church . Could we find one of these gifted ministers in a building , perfecting saints ? Yes

It's how you faithe into Christ which makes you a Christian or not .

Why would the elect children of God not want to meet together and praise their Father in communion?
Hebrews 10:21-25
[21]And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house,
[22]let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
[23]Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
[24]Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
[25]And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

These days, it's practically a per-requisite to not attend church. Churches today have become little more than a means for Republicans to indoctrinate people with their anti-Christian talking points (their all extremely pro-capitalist, for instance, despite the fact that the scriptures make it quite clear that greed is a sin)

You also get super liberal churches that go to the other extreme and want to just fit in with society by saying that gay marriage, abortion, etc. is all OK.

Very hard to find a church that actually does the work of the Lord.

We are not saved in groups but individually. Still, God has a church on earth and it is the ground and pillar of the truth. Staying away means losing out on priviledges which God has been pleased to provide.

Personally, I believe it's best to attend a Christ-centered, Bible-believing 'church' in order to have fellowship with other believers and to learn.
It's also reasonable to gather together in His name, to worship Him, together with other Christians.

Thank you.

Does the 'church' provide anything that a Christian could not get from a private worship service at home (the way they did in Paul's time)"
So long as there is a bona fide priest there (Holy Orders, Apostolic succession) to validly celebrate the Eucharist, then that is 'church'---no distinction from 'a private worship service at home' in such case. Without clergy there, then it is limited, since there can be no valid celebration of the Eucharist. Acts 2:42 KJV 'breaking of bread'

There are verses in God's Word that speak of the gathering together and having Deacons, etc, so it appears there are good reasons for having a regular church establishment to attend.
Also, bishops/overseers/elders, yes. Along with deacons.

Go anywhere... if a church is teaching evil, get out of it and find one that is good.

If you can't find one that it is good, start one.
Guaranteed, you can find an already existing Catholic Church parish. If not, check again. They are everywhere. The Catholic Church teaches good, not evil.
