Did God put Israel's covenant on hold?

Are you joking right now? Because on the first page literally JR, Clete and then even you yourself in post 12 said so. That's a terrific example of an 'everlasting covenant' that has not been 'put on hold'. So at least we all are on the same page about what that looks like.

First Afghan woman mayor: Waiting for Taliban to kill me

What a terrible situation. It's the Taliban who have the blood on their hands though.

Kabul Fell Yesterday, Where Is The President

We have bigger fish to fry, which is unfortunate for the people of Afghanistan. Pakistan was harboring the Taliban, wouldn't cooperate with us, and we couldn't afford to invade them just to stamp out the Taliban, not with Russia and China in the world.

    Have you noticed.....?

I observe this practice for actual violent criminals (which would be amoral people who either don't care about harming/killing others OR who are doing so intentionally), family or not. I think you're being extreme.

Did God put Israel's covenant on hold?

Maybe just for historical value. This thread (OP) concerns something called an "everlasting covenant" that Dispensationalism believes has been 'put on hold'. My contention this whole thread has basically been that such a momentous event is an extraordinary claim which requires extraordinary...

Even here, Romans 15 "That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost." It's not the offering up of the Gentiles, it's the offering up by the Gentiles, as...

    chrysostom

Look at this one; this is from Ephesians chapter two, Paul again, writing to yet another Gentile parish community. All these quotes are from a top-five popular Protestant Bible. It's easy to see unless you're determined to be myopic. And I don't mean determined in a Calvinist sense. We don't...

Nero Rome It could just be that all this already happened and the Church won already. Or at least some of it. Our first papa or pope Peter wrote "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus...

    Earthly Nature

Honestly, you go to Mass, you coordinate your life around your weekly obligation, your priestly duty, to offer the sacrifice of the Eucharist upon the altar of the Church, in memory of His death and Resurrection, until He comes again. In time whatever belongs to your earthly nature will subside...

Did God put Israel's covenant on hold?

Yes. If there's any 'Israel's covenant' that's been put on hold, it's that one. And we're justified in asking why. If there is an answer to why this covenant, the 'old' covenant, has been 'put on hold', then we are justified in seeking it. The notion that there are currently two 'Israel's...

A good liberal---a true liberal---knows how important a right the right to keep and bear arms is. Justice Clarence Thomas I believe, is a true liberal. It's just like liberals to call Thomas 'conservative', when they are all actually the conservatives here, because they are paternalists on gun...

The Eternal Purpose of creation !

Agreed! Because nobody murders for that reason. This is just one of the excuses that murderers give for their murdering. Of course it's not justified. Our rights are all those excuses that murderers give for murdering that is not a valid justification. Self-defense of course is a valid...

    Ethics and morals

A metaphor that RD uses is a swimming pool with lanes. He says ethics is what you do in your own lane, how you swim your own race basically, and morals is if you go into someone else's lane. We all agree that murder is immoral; rape, and perjury. We argue about other matters, but where we all...

Europe, praised for going green, exports emissions to the US

The focus is on emissions, which big picture, seems ridiculous because of the effort required to move away from burning 'fossil' fuels for heat. Combined with that we're going to run out of them anyway. We've been told this for decades. Oil, will run out. Coal, will run out. Natural gas...
