Yet people say, contrary to that verse; that man is free to do his will, or worse still; presume it is actually the will of GOD for them to continue in sin after receiving faith.
That is a terrible sin, from a certain, wrong viewpoint. According to the official teachers of the Church though, it is simple lack of full knowledge, which in itself, if it is sinful, is venial sin because of its lack of gravity.

True, such a philosophy can be said to contribute to the commission of grave sins, but therein lies the significance that it is in and of itself a light, less-grave, less-weighty trespass, to lack full knowledge; and therefore, it is forgiven every Christian already to lack full knowledge. This is my contextual reasoning of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

I was raised in a family that treated liquor as if it weren’t really there; as a result I had little interest in the stuff, since nobody showed it any interest.

As a result of having little interest in the stuff, when I did try it, and it tasted to me like a chemical cleanser, I developed zero further interest in liquor. I look at my habits now, where I literally keep an open bottle of liquor on the kitchen island, usually beside an unopened bottle of liquor, so that I’ve usually got a drinking bottle, and a back-up bottle, at all times, while I’m making a meal for my family (which itself is something I only saw my patriarch do on the first days’ of the weeks mornings, and during family holiday meals, and then only the main course, and the matriarch was in charge of the sides and desserts).

So, now that I have liquor everywhere, keeping an open box of 1.75 liters (handles) on hand, searching for the cheapest liquor I can find and buying bulk, with some variation, getting one type or other of a liquor that isn’t my current main squeeze; I wonder, how is my daughter going to grow up to accept liquor in the world? It is a mind-altering chemical that is available everywhere in a very wide variety of forms, and almost no matter where you are in the world, here, or in this or that continent---no matter what continent!---there it is. Liquor.

Liquor. One form of liquor is beer, another is wine. Then there’s cordials or liqueurs. And then 70+ proof liquors. There are 70+ proof liqueurs also.

Liqueurs have much more flavor. Usually it’s sugar.

Liquor is everywhere, so if you’re going to get hooked on a drug, make it liquor. It doesn’t matter if around where you live, something or other is legal and readily available and affordable, and morally acceptable.

Liquor is what you use in Asia and in Russia and in South America and Central America. Liquor is the world’s drug of choice, best be getting friendly with liquor, if you’re not a teetotaler.

Like President Donald Trump is and has been his whole life.

Angering GOD, and GOD being tempted by the devil are two different things.

I should have been more clear.

I also misspoke about one of the theives; one of them obviously didn't believe that Jesus was the Christ of GOD.

No only one thief believed, the first one said, "IF" you are the Christ save yourself and save us also. So if he had to ask if Jesus was the Christ, then he didn't believe in him.

Sounds like he believed Jesus was the Messiah:

Luke 23:39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

His heart wasn't right because he didn't obey.

He would need to humble himself, fear God, and repent.

Faith alone is dead and cannot save anyone.

That church is your God. Proof you do not think for yourself.

They set the roots as the Mother of Harlots.

There is no God the Son in scripture.
Are you really a man? Are you really an old man? My response depends upon your answers.

I would not disagree that the image of God (the Son of God) is a person. I can't point to a verse that says that in black and white, but I would agree. The point that I would make is that I don't feel comfortable saying that this was a different person. Perhaps a different instance of the same person, but certainly the attributes that we use to define one's true person were no different between this Father and Son.

The difference is that one is a creation, an image, that got his power for his creator.
All the power Of the logos came from the Father who is the only true God.

So at what time was he tempted when his apostles were with him? When he said that they continued with him in his temptations? Thanks

Jesus referred to temptations concerning times when the flesh is weak even when the mind is willing. When one is hungry, tired, sick, in pain, one can fall into temptations easier.

Jesus was tempted in the desert after fasting for 40 days and nights; he was tempted after being hungry.
Satan tempted him to sin by turning the rocks into bread.

Satan left him after Jesus resisted him, but there is shown before Jesus was arrested that he spoke to his apostles about falling into temptation. Jesus asked his apostles to stay awake, but they did not; and it was the time when Jesus prayed to the Father about taking this cup from him... that might have been when he was tempted again after the time in the desert. There are some translations that do not even say temptation in that one scripture you are talking about, the word used is trials.

You speak of yourself being tempted to sin every day and saying Jesus did too just doesn't sit well with me.

Jesus was tempted in the desert concerning pleasures of the flesh, and that was so that he could know what we go through. That is a deliberate time of temptation and no other is spoken of in the Bible such as that again.

There is no way you could ever convince me that he continued to be tempted with the same things that he was tempted with in the desert.

I'm sorry GT but I believe that Jesus went through what we do, he came in this flesh and experienced what we do yet without sin. It even says that the Pharisees tempted him. So he was tempted. The most important thing is that he didn't sin.

Being tempted doesn't mean we are weak, Satan will try to get us to fall even if we are strong in God. He will do whatever he can, he even comes sweetly. He was in Peter saying "this shouldn't happen to you Lord" (when Jesus told of what was about to happen to him.) But Christ Jesus spotted him immediately and said, "get ye behind me Satan" Jesus didn't fall for his tricks. And he could see him straight away because the Spirit was strong in him. And he was able for Satan and this world and he overcame both and he can help us to do the same.

Don't think that I thought Jesus was weak, on the contrary, to always deny Satan and never sin, in the desert and in his life, then shows us that that was full of the power of God.

But you still haven't explained when the apostles were with him in his continued temptations. It wasn't when they went to sleep, as that was their flesh being weak, and not anything to do with Jesus.

And I don't have to convince you of anything, I'm not trying to do that, I'm stating what is clearly written in the scriptures and I believe that Jesus told the truth.

It's not the being tempted that makes us wrong, it's the falling for it that does, our flesh is weak when we fall. And Jesus didn't fall, ever, not once and he was perfect without spot or blemish, never sinning, not even once. He was never weak in any way whatsoever as God gave him power over all flesh, because he gave his life to God and laid it down to for others, and lived by the will of the father who sent him. always doing what pleased the father, every second of every day. We aren't worthy of him, and those who belong to Christ, are truly blessed to know him and the living God.

Preaching obedience to Christ is not being a false teacher.

Hard to control your tongue here, just hate to think about what you are like with those you know in person.

I had perfect control of my tongue, and meant exactly what I said. If I thought it would do any good, I'd say it again, and I'd say even more. You don't preach "obedience", you preach a false gospel of works. Man's works do not save. Period.

Let's clear away possible word games. I'll translate. It is futile to attempt to tempt God with evil. It won't succeed. It does not matter what methods or conditions are used to tempt God, or how tempting you try to make the temptations, you aren't going to be able to tempt God. This doesn't mean that God is a robot, without feeling or emotion or care, it means that his strength and righteousness will always prevail.

It's not word games, and yes, God cannot be tempted with evil, yet still Jesus was! But the power of God in him overcame Satan. And he didn't sin once. God gave him power over all flesh. He came from heaven and became as we are, and suffered yet never sinned right up until his last breath, and he overcame the world and the devil. He lived the way out perfectly, and brought a new and living way for us to follow, a way in which we worship the father in Spirit and in truth. And as long as we live by the will of God, he will never leave us and through Christ, he will strengthen us to overcome.

It is not mine that I am doing.

It is the Word of God.

You speak against it.

Not going to go well for you.

The first thief was mocking Jesus, it says in that verse that he railed against him,

Dictionary, rail against

*or*at
verb

To attack with harsh, often insulting language:

He was acting just like these people

Mark 15

And he was numbered with the transgressors. And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest*it*in three days, Save thyself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

One crucified with him railed on him, just as those who mocked him did. He was mocking Jesus, and just like the others who mocked him, he didn't believe in him at all!

If we believe, then we don't rail, revile or mock Jesus! We will love him and want to be with him.

Luke 22:28

Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me
