This is what is written, and I believe it!
Luke 22:28
Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me
The first thief was mocking Jesus, it says in that verse that he railed against him,
Dictionary, rail against
*or*at
verb
To attack with harsh, often insulting language:
He was acting just like these people
Mark 15
And he was numbered with the transgressors. And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest*it*in three days, Save thyself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
One crucified with him railed on him, just as those who mocked him did. He was mocking Jesus, and just like the others who mocked him, he didn't believe in him at all!
If we believe, then we don't rail, revile or mock Jesus! We will love him and want to be with him.
Jesus was led in the desert TO BE TEMPTED.
Jesus was tempted in the desert when he was hungry.
He was tempted to not obey God and was also tempted with worldly desires.
Jesus did not fail when tempted.
Jesus was at many stressful times in his ministry, for instance, no place to sleep, and then before getting arrested he had the trial/temptation of not doing what the Father wanted by suffering and dying. Again Jesus did not fail. At that time Jesus told his apostles to stay awake, they did not obey him because they were sleep deprived. Jesus knew that Peter would fail and deny him three times because of fear of torture, pain and death.
You say that you are tempted to sin every day is just kind of strange to me. I wonder what kind of sin you are talking about since you compare yourself to the temptations of Jesus.
Where did I ever say that Jesus failed when tempted?
GT, anyone who believes in Jesus doesn't act like the first thief, they act like the second one, they admit their faults, and they humble themselves. The first thief was too worried about himself and his own salvation. He didn't care for Jesus, the second thief did. Even the second thief saying to the other one, "do you not fear God," shows us that the first thief was wrong in what he was saying. He didn't believe in Jesus, he was just worried about himself, whereas the second one was selfless and has faith, and Jesus saw his heart! The word 'rail' also can mean 'complain', but you left that part out.
People can believe in God but their hearts aren't right because they don't obey.
Just think of the magician.
Dishonest? You said that Jesus did not fail when tempted, I have never said that he did!Leave me alone Marhig, you are making things up that I did not say.
I don't debate people who are so dishonest.
Dishonest? You said that Jesus did not fail when tempted, I have never said that he did!

The other thief on the cross also believed that Jesus was God.
However, he did not have a right heart.
Jesus tells us how to make our heart right for salvation.
With some people, with most people, this can be more of an effort.
Think of the time the magician believed.
13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.
18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”
Then he wasn't made to be like his brethren as it says in the Bible!I have already explained my beliefs to you and you are going to go on as if you didn't hear what I said. Why not read what I said and respond to that?
'Temptations' can be thought of as trials when the body is weak from sleep deprivation, hunger, pain, and worry. It does NOT mean he was tempted to sin every day like you are and for the things you are, for that happened in the desert.
No but in your post it looks like I have said that! Jesus never failed, he never sinned. I just want you to know that I don't ever think that he failed. Not once! Being tempted and failing are completely different.I never said you said Jesus failed. Prove it where or said that or examine yourself.
Then he wasn't made to be like his brethren as it says in the Bible!
Hebrews 2
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto*his*brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things*pertaining*to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.*For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
If he was made like his brethren, them he would have experienced what they did but without sin, and they continued with him through his temptations.
You can't tell me GT that I'm dishonest as false and whatever else you have called me, and then expect me to say nothing to you. Especially when I'm quoting the Bible!
But the first thief didn't believe, he said IF you are the Christ," not "I know you are the Christ" he was asking him if he was! The first thief wanted a sign, to prove that Jesus was the Christ, he wanted Jesus to prove who he was by saving him. He had no faith, the second thief did that's why he was saved.Simon is PROOF that YOU are not speaking the truth.
Simon did WHAT?
Simon BELIEVED.
Simon believed but his heart was STILL NOT RIGHT.
We have to make our heart right and REPENT OF OUR SINS.
But the first thief didn't believe, he said IF you are the Christ," not "I know you are the Christ" he was asking him if he was! I'm a nobody too, but I know that Satan is everywhere and I hear him in others as well as him trying my own heart too. And I know that sometimes I fall. But hopefully not wilfully, if I carry on wilfully sinning and disobeying God then I know I'm in trouble, we are to turn from sin, but as I said I do sometimes do something wrong, and when I realise I go to God and then try and put it right if I can.I do believe you are dishonest.
As for Jesus being tempted to sin every day as you are that is not true.
I am not even tempted to sin like you every day, and who am I? I am a nobody.
You said no one who believes acts like that.
I proved you wrong when I showed you scripture about Simon.
You are argumentative and dishonest.
EE and Lon are like that too, and I try to avoid them as best I can.
There are MANY people who say they believe but then they live their lives as always.
