That movie is AWESOME! I just cracked up for about a minute straight and watched the clip 5 times....
# Hillarious!
I read and know the bible, more than you. Nonetheless, I don't believe the bible is inerrant and I don't have to. That's your religious tyranny. Imposing that on others, without evidence. If you claim, that the protestant bible, is the flawless word of God, prove it. The burden of proof is upon the one who makes the claim. You claim the book is the infallible word of God. Why should I or anyone else, believe that?
Jamie, so before Christians had a bible, how did they have a relationship with Him?
Acts 11:26 is a good place to look that up.
Who in this thread has said they "worship" the Bible? :idunno:
I thought about it and you have some character in your replies... Your answers are fair... but... and I emphasize but...
The Gospel plus "what" = salvation ?
What does Ephesians 2:8f mean to you?
What does 1 John 2:27 mean to you?
That's not what I asked.
Do you deny that simply believing what Paul called "my gospel" -- that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification - saves? That's a yes or no question, please.
I doubt someone with an eight year old's mind, a mentally handicapped person, is going to be damned to hell.
Scripture is infallible.
Your misunderstanding of it does not eliminate the fact that scripture never fails with truth.
Ungodly men will always attempt to slander scripture and try to convince folks it is unreliable with any lame excuse they can muster up to cause doubt.
"Did GOD really say?"
I read and know the bible, more than you.
Who's this Paul guy you're talking about? Is he one of the twelve Yeshua commissioned?
It is your choice to to believe scripture is reliable or not.
You have chosen not to trust it as reliable.
:red:
2 Samuel 22:31 King James Version (KJV)Why should I trust or believe that it is the infallible word of God? What is it about that book, that in your estimation, makes it the infallible, perfect word of God? Do you just blindly believe it?
The fact that the Bible is not perfect does not take away from it, If anything it enhances it. The apostles were not scholars, they were common men and they wrote as common men. This is one reason that the bible is easy to understand. They were eye witnesses to the Christ event. They recorded what they saw and what they heard. The Gospel is very clear in the Bible, it is about how Jesus came into the world to do for us that which we cannot do for ourselves. I highly recommend that you get into the Bible. Buy a study Bible that comments on the scriptures. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John first, then read Paul's epistles. If you come across something that you don't understand don't let it discourage you. Ask some one that has been a Christian a long time for the answer.
2 Samuel 22:31 King James Version (KJV)
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
Psalm 18:30 King James Version (KJV)
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
The way of His commandments. The law, Torah. That's what God wrote with His own finger, on tablets of stone, and upon our hearts. A way of life, consecrated, devoted to YHWH, by keeping His commandment.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain how/why the Bible can't be trusted.
I doubt someone with an eight year old's mind, a mentally handicapped person, is going to be damned to hell.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain why your Christian bible should be trusted? You're saying, it's the infallible word of God. What makes the epistles of Paul for example, "God's infallible word"? One who's authority, are his epistles, letters, the infallible word of God? Why should I trust your Christian spin on the faith of Israel? Paul wasn't even one of the 12 apostles, and it seems 90% of what you Evangelicals quote, comes from him. You'd think the whole bible, is comprised of Paul's letters.
Paulianity.
