Human rights watchdog: Trump is an authoritarian populist

It is, and lest anybody pats him on the back for it, it's not tough to abstain from what we're talking about here. Anybody can not do that stuff.
I personally enjoy that he does this. I wish all of our Presidents, not only did what he's doing, but were forced to do it, even if they didn't want to. Presidents should be constantly chattering with Americans, as much as possible; we knowing him better than we ever knew any previous leader, is not a bad thing!

:)

Ah Twitter. But he is too cowardly to hold a real press conference. One on one with the press. Oh, but they treat him soooo badly. Whine, Whine, Whine.

One on one with the Press? :rotfl:

That's like Marshal Dillon going one on one with a lynch mob....and expecting him to do it without Colt in hand.

More Trumpy whining. He is the President of the United States. He has no courage to stand up, explain his position, respond to specific questions, and take criticism without blaming someone else. I suspect, in addition to simple cowardice, his knowledge of the underlying issues is so superficial he would be unable to respond cogently, that would be apparent and give him the chance to scream fake news.

Compare to Obama's gutsy move to show up at a congressional republican retreat and take questions from the guys pledged to make him fail, with Fox News recording it.

Obama Goes To GOP Lions’ Den — And Mauls The Lions
President Obama traveled to a House Republican retreat in Baltimore on Friday and delivered a performance that was at once defiant, substantive and engaging. For roughly an hour and a half, Obama lectured GOP leaders and, in a protracted, nationally-televised question-and-answer session, deflected their policy critiques, corrected their misstatements and scolded them for playing petty politics. (Full video and transcript available HERE.)

White House officials told the Huffington Post they were absolutely ecstatic. MSNBC’s Luke Russert, who was on the scene in Baltimore, relayed that a Republican official and other GOP aides had confided to him that allowing the “cameras to roll like that” was a “mistake.”

It got so embarrassing for the republicans that Fox stopped the cameras and stopped broadcasting the event.

But Obama does know what he's talking about, and he's got the stamina and intellect to handle a room full of republican politicians.
