Equating respect for individual freedom with apathy is a fundamental category error.

People are certainly free to destroy themselves. But it's anything BUT loving to ignore it.

And even worse to affirm them in their self-harm.

Yep, it’s always about advancing the *rights* of men rather than what is in the best interest of children and women.

Is it a good thing for a man to be able to protect, love, care for, and provide for his wife and children?

And is it in their best interest for him to do so?

To be willing to do so. Certainly. However, we all know all men are not created equal.

To be willing to do so. Certainly.

Not just willing, but TO do so.

However, we all know all men are not created equal.

I agree (and disagree with Thomas Jefferson who penned that in the Constitution), but all men (speaking of mankind here) are equal under the law. The law is the great teacher.

When the laws set in place by a government are bad or wicked, then it follows that men will become wicked.

Thus, the laws set in place by the government should take into account the rights given to man by God. Do we agree?

No, for the simple fact that the Bible has different interpretations based on the reader. For example, based on the Bible, adultery is a sin (even worthy of death). There are many people still breathing (including POTUS) who have committed that sin. Should they receive the DP?

Well, no, not quite.

The Bible can be interpreted differently by each person who reads it. But that doesn't make their interpretation correct.

What matters is what it actually contains, and that is absolute truth.

For example, based on the Bible, adultery is a sin (even worthy of death).

It's not just a sin. It's a crime, and a capital crime at that.

There are many people still breathing (including POTUS) who have committed that sin.

If the death penalty were enforced for adultery, most if not all of the people who have committed that crime would never have committed it in the first place.

Should they receive the DP?

If they are convicted of adultery on the testimony of two or three witnesses, then yes, they should be put to death. Because that is in the best interest of the nation and of society as a whole.

does the dogma live loudly within you?

what is a dogma?

a principle that promotes a civilized society

are we talking religion?

religion does preserve certain traditions or standards

it is used to discriminate against those who don't fit the norm

do we have to get rid of our dogmas to make others comfortable?

we are talking about rights

like the right to kill?

of course not

does the aborted baby have any rights?

what does that have to do with dogma?
