Have you worn a mask every flu season? 50,000 a year die from the flu. Why didn't you wear you mask and social distance every year?
Good question...I understand it is because this is a worse virus than the ordinary flu and more like the spanish flu and so needs greater precautions. What is the core of the conspiracy to get them to want me to do so this time?

So, 20,000 or 30,000 dead is okay. No mask. but 100,000, need a mask.

You cannot see they hypocrisy there? Amazing.

I think ttruscott should refrain from driving

In 2019, an estimated 38,800 people lost their lives to car crashes

I drive carefully and obey the law as well as the social rules for driving. I'm not afraid of driving because others are dying from crashes - I drive careful to keep others safe as well as myself.

Of course but it is claimed that we are carriers before we have symptoms and are most contagious in the few days BEFORE we feel any symptoms. I have not seen a study that refutes this yet.

If that's true, since corona isn't ever going away, you owe it to society to never leave your house again for as long as you live without a mask strapped to your head to keep everyone else safe.

What is a social rule for driving.

And yet you are scared of a virus which has LESS chance of killing you than the driving does. LOLLLL

Horse apples.
One social rule for driving is to not impede the left lane even though the legal limit is set there too.

I do not wear a mask because it think it will keep me from dying from the virus. I wear a mask to keep you from getting infected by me.You keep changing my narrative which seems dishonest.

You scorn me for being a careful citizen? It is not political for me, it is my Christian outlook.

I don't think the term "social rule" is right, but okay, you can have that one.

Yes, you said that before. But you don't have covid so you don't need to wear it, and more importantly the government cannot force you to wear it.

And that's fine. Wear all the masks you want. You can wrap youself in bubble wrap too. I defend your God-given right to do as you please.

I scorn you for thinking that government has any right at all to make me do the same.

It's one that does you credit.

If you are contagious but don't know it and are in my space, how are you not puting me at a risk of being infected? I'm a robust 73 year old but I don't' want to become infected.
They are putting you at risk, but they care more for their own "personal values" then your or anyone else's health because frankly, they're irresponsible and feebly trying to justify it.

"My neighbor has the right to choose to be afraid.

If he is afraid that I unknowingly carry an illness, he has the right to be afraid of me. He has the right to stay away from me. But he does not have the right to control me, detain me, or deface me.

If he comes near me and I am ill, he may catch my illness. If he fears my illness he can stay away.

I will come to him if he needs me, even if he’s sick.

When we are well, I’ll eat with him in a restaurant, sit next to him in a theatre or wait in line with him at the grocery store. I’ll never force him to do anything against his will and I expect the same respect from him.

I accept the inherent risk of death in life. If I should inadvertently catch an illness from him, I will not hold him responsible. Even if I perish. This is how it’s always been, and it’s how it should always be.

If I am knowingly ill, I pledge to respect my neighbors and contain my illness as best I can while still providing for myself and my family. I cannot guarantee that I will not spread a pathogen, but I will be considerate.

I promise to never rob, murder, envy, vandalize or bear false witness against my neighbor."

No one is trampling my anything. I am in a social contract with people and I am no more careless of their health with a virus than I am careless with their health from my guns, my knives and swords or my dog. I have the right to make my own decision how I do that no matter how you scorn me for my decison.

I don't want you to care about my health. My health is none of your concern, the same as your health is none of my concern.

They have three vaccines already. It will go away soon enough. Your lack of interest in helping others because you think they will get infected inevitably is dismaying.

Why do you assume becoming infected with the virus is a bad thing?

Now you're lying or you are truly stupid.

We have had seasonal flu vaccines for decades but despite it 10s of thousands die annually from flu.

Put that mask on and don't EVER take it off, or you're a hypocrite who doesn't care about others.
