Baptism is a ceremony that symbolizes repentance and the remission of sin by burying the old person. Death frees a person from past sins.

Dan P, it would be best if you left for a while until you have more understanding of the NT. The 1 Peter passage that this is from is peculiar by any standard, and a person who really knew the NT would know where such unusual passages are right off.

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4 NKJV)

For he who has died has been freed from sin. (Romans 6:7 NKJV)

Hi and you did have to go to Paul's writings to find that all believers are PLACED / BAPTIZO into Christ resurrection , and Water is not mentioned here one WHIT !!

We are PLACED / BAPTIZO into to Christ by the HOLY SPIRIT as recorded in 1 Cor 12:13 in the Dispensation of the Grace of God >

During Jesus earthly ministry Jesus ADDED to the Assembly in Acts 2:47 and it also means that FIRST jesus SAVED them and then ADDED THEM TO THAT ASSEMBLY !!

By the way ADDED is in the IMPERFECT TENSE and that means Jesus STOPPED ADDING to that Assembly by Acts 28:28 !!

Right again , right !!

"Baptism into death" has NOTHING to do with a water ceremony. It has to do with IDENTIFICATION with Jesus Christ in HIS death on the cross and thereafter HIS resurrection.

Paul explained that baptism pictures death, burial and resurrection to a new life with Jesus Christ.
No, he does not. You only say that because EVERY time that you see baptism, you think WATER.
Mat 20:22-23 KJV But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. (23) And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
Do you see water here too?

Baptism represents Jesus' immersion into death. We are buried with him.

Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (Romans 6:3 NKJV)

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. (Romans 6:8 NKJV)

There is NO water in those Romans verses that you quote.
You have water on the noggin.

The baptism in Romans 6:3 is an IDENTIFICATION and not a dunking. But you're fully indoctrinated and cannot believe the truth.

The baptism in Romans 6:3 is an IDENTIFICATION and not a dunking. But you're fully indoctrinated and cannot believe the truth.

Paul was explaining what occurred when men heard the promise of Acts 2:38 and obeyed it.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

That is backed up by Paul teaching the Ephesians the same thing, and they obeying it.

Act 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Act 19:7 And all the men were about twelve.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.
(Acts 8:38 NKJV)

Heir, all I did was quote scripture. Are you saying scripture is confused?

A neg rep is worth how much? What's the point of giving them? Are you confused?
