that's right - Captain Kirk and colonel klink meet dorothy gale

Ma and Pa Kettle reminded me of my great aunt Eva and great uncle Jennings. Pa Kettle even looked a lot like Uncle Jennings. :chuckle: The biggest difference was that they didn't have a lot of kids because they married late in life (They had both been widowed for several years.).

If I had to separate my favorite movies into categories, they would be 1) comedies; 2) old martial arts movies; 3) musicals; 4) old sci-fi movies; and 5) historical fiction (even loosely based on fact is great).

Humphrey Bogart - Maltese Falcon, Cassablanca, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The African Queen, etc
Joseph Cotton - The Third Man, Shadow of a Doubt, and Journey into Fear
Orson Wells - The Third Man, The Lady from Shanghai, Citizen Kane, Long Hot Summer, etc.
William Holden - Picnic, Bridge on the River Kwai and The Wild Bunch
Cary Grant - Arsenic and Old Lace, North by Northwest, To Catch a Thief, and Charade
Paul Newman - The Long Hot Summer and Harper
Errol Flynn - Robin Hood
Jack Lemmon - The Apartment and Good Neighbor Sam
Gene Tierney - Laura
Maureen O'Sullivan - Tarzan and His Mate
Jimmy Stewart - Vertigo and Rear Window
Grace Kelly - Rear Window and To Catch a Thief
Kim Novak - Picnic and Vertigo
Charlton Heston - Ben-Hur and Planet of the Apes
Sidney Greenstreet - Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, The Mask of Demetrius, Three Strangers, etc.
Peter Lorre - Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Mask of Demetrius, Three Strangers, etc.
Ray Milland - Dial M from Murder, Ministry of Fear, The Uninvited, etc.
Sean Connery - Goldfinger, From Russia with Love, The Name of the Rose, etc.
John Wayne - The Quiet Man, Three Godfathers, Stagecoach, Red River, The High and the Mighty, Fort Apache, etc.
Steve McQueen - Bullitt, The Great Escape and The Thomas Crown Affair
Gregory Peck - 12:00 O'Clock High, Mirage, To Kill a Mockingbird and Arabesque,
Gary Cooper - High Noon and The Westerner
Audrey Hepburn - Wait Until Dark and Charade
Glenn Ford - The Gazebo
James Garner - Mr. Buddwing and The Great Escape

Silence of the North with Ellen Burnstein (sp) and, of course, Little Big Man and Forest Gump and Rain Man....probably none of those are old enough, but they were sure good.

Oh, and what was the name of that movie with Gary Cooper and Walter Brennen (as Judge Roy Bean)? That was great. Oh, and Gary Cooper as Sergeant York. Loved those.
