Is this what Bob Enyart has taught you to believe? That is not what Jesus taught and did. It is better to follow Jesus -the rewards are eternal.
"While we were yet sinners, He died for us".
[jesus]Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and
if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘
I repent,’ you shall forgive him.[/jesus]
-Luke 17:3-4
Did you ask Jesus to forgive you before He died, once, in the fulness of times, to cover your transgressions?
He didn't forgive me, until I asked.
Did Jesus wait for those who had to do the deed of putting Him to death to ask Him to forgive them, before He cried; Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do?'
They didn't know they were executing an innocent man. That's what they didn't know. So they had no reason to repent, as far as they knew.
When did Jesus forgive them? While they did it -don't you see? Who do you want to follow?
See above.
Did Jesus teach us about forgiveness in the parable of the prodigal son?
Why did the Father run to meet the son, when he saw him a long way off -before the son came and asked for forgiveness? The father already had no grudges, but longed for the son's restoration and ran to meet him.
You do realize the son was coming to ask for forgiveness, right? And the father knew that.
And nobody said anything about grudges. Grudges are useless. They only serve to make the one who holds them miserable.
Did Stephen follow Jesus when he was stoned, by calling on the Lord to not lay the sin of stoning him to their charge? Why did Stephen forgive his killers? Was Paul forgiven by Stephen for his part in Stephen's murder -execution by stoning?
Where is this doctrine of unforgiveness going to take you? -I don't think it will take you -or anyone who holds it- to heaven -not by what the Lord Jesus teaches us, and not by what His disciples do.
NKJV - Act 7:60 -Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Why do you think Stephen did that? And do you think God did forgive them?
