Bob Marley & The Wailers - Redemption Song
I never got in to Slayer. I tried, I can't remember what it was that turned me off, but the equation of pros and cons just didn't favor Slayer. They're in good company, I couldn't get in to Megadeth either, or Iron Maiden. The equation just didn't work out, for me, for them.
There is a lot of aural good in Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Slayer, but there just isn't enough for me, to counteract the challenges these bands impose on me as a listener as well. What's the expression; the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
It's good music to listen to if you want to race yourself 100mph down some back country road at night and drive yourself [off/over] a cliff. That's about it.
You could try opera.
Dovlet is pretty good but I'm not sure how often he's in the US. Meet him just by chance years ago. Still gives me a call about once or twice a year when he's in town. Always brings some nice whiskey from whatever country he was in last and usually a bit of homemade brandy to go along with it.![]()
They don't use any microphones when they sing. It's really amazing how their voices are trained to carry so far without them. I can't even hear my wife talking to me from the next room.
I like metal, or heavy music. Not exclusively, I like it "in the rotation" though.
I could try opera. I have not tried opera. I certainly haven't given opera the chance I gave to Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and other bands, artists, and acts. Fair is fair.
It's nice to hear a baritone like that, he's really engaging all his resonators. I'm talking about the bishop ofc.
What am I watching btw? What is this scene about? Is the other guy, the tenor I think, a priest, and he's talking with his bishop?
