I have never spoken in the tongues you all recognize. I would always just ask the Lord, Lord should I speak in tongues or not, His reply to me has always been the same.

What you're pointing to there in Paul's writings is referring to the gift of tongues that must have an interpreter. Has nada to do with receiving the tongues commonly called your prayer language where you pray thru your spirit because you know not what you should pray but the Spirit will give you utterance. One is a public gift that is for unbelievers, the other is a private one for edification.

Paul was basically asking their own questions about it, then answering it. His point was, NO, not all have all gifts, including the gift of tongues and interpretation. Blessings....

To suggest it is milk is also wrong, Paul was not on milk without ceasing, either. Without tongues, NONE of the other gifts are in operation, so that means you are effectively not being used by the Holy Ghost to do the works, we are told the Holy Ghost does the works. We are told once we have this baptism of power from on high, that we are to seek to grow into the capability of the best gifts, which is the ability to prophesy.

And to prophesy is NOT telling someone what they are going to do next Tuesday like a fortune teller, but rather the root of prophesy is the realm of the king, for it is the ability to speak those things that are not, as though they were, and then watch it happen.

I've been in this walk for 32 years and seen many people baptized in the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues. All it requires is the initial salvation experience and faith, as He is the baptizer and it is a free gift for all whom the Lord has called, even those that are afar off. You're called aren't you? Well, then the gift is yours, I urge you to cast down that spirit of unbelief and press in to receive it. Blessings...

There are many languages in the world. Doctors have one, lawyers have one, intellectuals have one, common people have one. Seeing that the only guaranteed message in the bible comes from the Holy Spirit. So to guard that guarantee He even uses a special language. And the Holy Spirit only quotes verses, He explains verses with other verses. There are spirits in us trying to deceive us and they all speak the same language carnal. So we can discern the Holy Spirit He quotes verses. Now this is the meat understanding of the Word. The milk understanding is done with the carnal language, the meat understanding is done with only verses. Its an unknown tongue to the carnal mind.

The Lord had a lot more verses than those awriiten down concerning speaking in tongues.

Tongues is a spiritual ability you already have as a Christians have not learned enough of what scriptures say about tongues to obey Gods word and commandment to speak in tongues.

Tongues spoken by a believer and interpreted by that same believer in the church is a sign to the unbelievers who witness it that there is more to living Gods word than just showing up at church twice a year.

The first thing the apostles did on the day of Pentecost was to speak in tongues. The spoke of the wonderful works of God.

Do you have any siblings? Were you the first born or the last born? Is the last one not important because it was last?

Speaking in tongues is not a gift that only some believers get from God. It one of nine profitable ways to manifest that gift of holy spirit/salvation/eternal life that all Christians have been given.

One reason that the great Apostle Paul spoke in tongues so much is because it is profitable to do so.

No, the problem is, YOUR intellect/carnal mind doesn't want to bow the knee to the Spirit of God. Which is why He keeps giving you the same scriptures over and over again, because you're "stuck" there. Until you perceive it through His mind which is Spirit, instead of what you've been taught or YOU think it is, you'll stay stuck there. Repent of unbelief, He calls it, "an evil heart of unbelief", and then go to Him and ask Him to baptize you in His Spirit. Or stay stuck, never growing, it's up to you. Blessings...

There are many languages in the world. Doctors have one, lawyers have one, intellectuals have one, common people have one. Seeing that the only guaranteed message in the bible comes from the Holy Spirit. So to guard that guarantee He even uses a special language. And the Holy Spirit only quotes verses, He explains verses with other verses. There are spirits in us trying to deceive us and they all speak the same language carnal. So we can discern the Holy Spirit He quotes verses. Now this is the meat understanding of the Word. The milk understanding is done with the carnal language, the meat understanding is done with only verses. Its an unknown tongue to the carnal mind.

It takes the Holy Spirit with the verses working inside of us to discern who is who..

The language of the Spirit, because it came from the Spirit, is one language, one Source, and that Source is HEAVENLY, which is why the fire came from HEAVEN, and then they spoke in tongues, and why Paul said (because of this) our conversation IS FROM HEAVEN, and that we speak BOTH with the tongues of men AND OF ANGELS. Last time I checked, you can't speak from a place you are not, and being baptized into His Spirit means you have placed in Him, and WHERE IS HE NOW?

Without this, what you have is a cistern of water in you, which will eventually breed nothing but worms, unlike moving water, which is why rivers of living/moving water is said to come out of our bellies (means innermost beings = your spirit man). Repent of unbelief. Blessings....

lol You really don't seem to know anything about the operation of the Holy Spirit. I guess that is why you keep everything carnal. The Word(verses) was God. The Holy Spirit only quotes Gods Word(verses) and He never works through emotions. He will gently quote the wisdom from above.

He did speak a lot of things. And if it isn't written in scripture we don't need it for salvation. God had Jesus put in scripture what we need for salvation. So that the Holy Spirit could guide us with it. And here is the parts you forgot to post. The Holy Spirit is NOT allowed to speak to us on His own authority, He can only take from what is Christ's, the new testament verses.
