Let's see. King David was anointed. King Saul was anointed. The Temple priests were anointed.

Prophets, Kings, and Priests are anointed.

That is right, AND it does NOT make them Christ, LORD, and God.

Now do you get it?

It is what I was explaining to steko who brought up the anointing of others to prove Christ does not mean God.

1 Kings 19:16
And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

The MAN, Jesus of Nazareth, was the ANOINTED ONE (Messiah) spoken of in the OT. He was the "Chosen ONE". Of course you will read about Him in the OT. The work of the ANOINTED ONE/MESSIAH/CHRIST is speaking of Jesus' humanity here on earth. Jesus didn't require an anointing in His Deity.

So then, are you claiming Jesus was not God in the flesh? Do you see now how you have spun yourself a web and are stuck in it now?

Why are you denying the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ? And, don't deny it. That's exactly what you are doing in the statement above.

I am doing no such thing. Jesus is the Christ, he is God, he is LORD. He was anointed with the Holy Spirit while in the flesh AS A MAN and still was God.

You are the one who is denying.

I gave three separate scriptures from three different books where Christ, LORD, and God were used interchangeably.

You insist on ignoring the simple fact that the word CHRIST is the Greek translation for MESSIAH.

The term also appears in the forms Messias (Ancient Greek: Μεσσίας), Christ (Ancient Greek: Χριστός), or Al-Masih (Arabic: المسيح‎‎, ISO 233: al-masīḥ). ... In the Hebrew Bible, Israel's kings were sometimes called God's "messiah"—God's anointed one. A messiah could also be an anointed high priest or prophet.

The Messiah was sent by God. God sent the Son to die upon the cross.

Your refusal to listen is getting to be very troubling, GT.

Synonyms != Definitions

Synonym: "a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language, for example shut is a synonym of close."

Definition: "a statement of the exact meaning of a word, especially in a dictionary."

The DEFINITION of CHRIST is ANOINTED.

You're trying to change the DEFINITION to "LORD, God, etc." You don't get to change the definition of a word just because you want it to fit your theology.

I gave scriptures that used the word Christ, God, and LORD INTERCHANGEABLY with proves they are synonymous.

Messiah means Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer.

THOSE NAMES are the names of God the Father in the old testament.

Address simple LOGIC (which you have NO CLUE about).

That the LORD Jesus is BOTH GOD and CHRIST does NOT make these terms identical.

I am both a SON and a FATHER.... that does NOT MAKE SON AND FATHER MEAN THE SAME THING.

Your stupidity is immense.

The words SON AND FATHER are NOT synonymous words.

And Steko is right. Christ does NOT mean God. Just because the Lord Jesus Christ was God does not mean that the word CHRIST means God.

Because Steko, like most thinking adults, realize that words have meanings....all their own. You cannot make up meanings to suit your fancy. It's wrong, and it's leading you far astray of the truth.

So then, are you claiming Jesus was not God in the flesh? Do you see now how you have spun yourself a web and are stuck in it now?

You are the one who is denying.

NOPE. You are the one denying the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have crossed over to the far side. You have out-thunk yourself, and are the complete opposite of LA and Oatmeal, who deny the Deity of Christ.

I'm afraid you are what John warned of in his letters. It must be why you confuse the Father and the Son.

These folks believed Jesus was God but denied His humanity.

1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

What does MESSIAH mean? What do you know about the Messiah?

You really are all mixed up.

I gave you scripture from the old testament that proves Jesus suffering and dying on the cross is about being forsaken and not saved from it.

Forsaken means to leave without intending to return. That's what it means. Where do you get "and not saved from it" from?

The phrase used by Jesus is literally "Why have you left me." It's a cry of distress.

Pretty sure Jesus meant what He said, which is that His Father had left Him, whereas before Jesus would have been in constant communication with His Father.

Jesus was fulfilling the scriptures when he said that.

No one has said otherwise.

Do you or not believe Jesus was God when he walked the earth? Yes? So then how do you ever get that God could separate Himself from himself?

Son != Father.

He didn't separate Himself from Himself, that's a contradictory statment.

GOD THE SON was separated from GOD THE FATHER.

Jesus is the Lord and the Spirit. Jesus went to prison/hell and preached the gospel there. Don't you believe the scriptures that say that? Jesus also raised himself. Don't you believe that?

Was the Father with Jesus when He went down into Hell to preach? Or was Jesus alone?

I gave scriptures that used the word Christ, God, and LORD INTERCHANGEABLY with proves they are synonymous.

Are you seriously this dense, GT? Can you really not understand what I'm saying?

You're trying to use "synonyms" as definitions.

I'm not talking about synonyms of "Christ." I'm talking about the "DEFINITION" of "Christ." GET IT!?

Messiah means Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer.

No, it does not. It is another title Jesus had, but that doesn't make it mean those things.

THOSE NAMES are the names of God the Father in the old testament.

So? That doesn't make those words the definition of "messiah."

The words SON AND FATHER are NOT synonymous words.

And yet you are trying to assert that they are talking about the same Person. They. Are. Not.

Unfortunately, GT is having a brain fade.

She is suffering from attention overload.

Like an animal caught in a trap, she will chew off her own leg to escape.

Does anyone have a traquilizer dart.

I guess you don't own a dictionary at your house...or even have access to an online Bible dictionary.

Such a shame.

So, you're a mom.

You wash dishes.

You do laundry.

Does that mean you are dishes or laundry?

Unfortunately, GT is having a brain fade.

Resorting to insults when one does not have the truth to defend their beliefs.

Just listen to what you said about me.

Don't you know what you do?

God the Father is LORD, God, and the Savior, the Redeemer, the Deliverer, the Holy One of Israel.

Jesus is those things too. The Bible says so.

I'm telling the truth, and nothing but the truth.

I know how irritated that makes you, but you are so wrong here that I'm embarrassed for you.
