Opinion: American right becoming completely untethered from reality

That house was smashed to smithereens four years ago. Intentionally.

Much earlier than that, even, unintentionally. The moment our founding fathers decided on a multi-party based system, this nation was divided.

The moment they chose democracy to run the government, the decay started. We're seeing the results of that decay today.

What happened 4 years ago, and 8 years ago, and 12 years ago, and 16 years ago, and 20 years ago, and so on, is what happens when you build a nation upon sand, instead of building it on a solid foundation.

The nation was already collapsing when Trump took office. He simply poured gasoline on it, and Biden has tossed a match onto it.

This nation isn't going to last much longer, I fear. But saying the nation should be divided even further only kills it faster.

How on earth can the sides possibly come together when the GOP is still spreading the big lie and trying to overturn the election?

Also, we disagree on the fire. trump is the arsonist while Biden is trying to put out the fire.

My biggest complaint about the left is that they show up at a knife fight with cotton balls. With the exception of a select few on the right, the Dems need to consider and treat the GOP as the enemies to America that they are.

This is what I'm talking about.

You want to see "the other guys" as a reason to divide even further.

You, Rusha, are part of the problem. Not the solution.

And the GOP can't say the same about the left?

Be real, Rusha.

The solution isn't in process or in partisan politics.

It's in looking to God.

and trying to overturn the election?

Investigating potential election fraud isn't "trying to overturn the election."

If that's the result, then so be it.

But to say that that's their goal from the outset is jumping the gun.

Again, process isn't the solution here.

Dividing the nation definitely isn't it either.

What we need, as a nation, is to ask God for wisdom for the leaders of this nation, and for the leaders to turn to Him for guidance.

Also, we disagree on the fire. Trump is the arsonist while Biden is trying to put out the fire.

Of course we disagree, yet you missed the point.

The point I was trying to make is that you're not getting the big picture here.

Both sides of the aisle are at fault for various things. Yet NEITHER SIDE is willing to admit their mistakes, and it's because of the fact that doing so would require humbling themselves and recognizing that they aren't the gold standard.

Both sides need to come clean about their wrongdoings. But that won't happen.

This is what happens when you have a government that does not have a single point of accountability anywhere in its system.

No one person can be held accountable for their actions, because everyone is involved in the wrongdoing, even the people.

What we need now is not to split the nation, but for the government to realize that the form of government we have now will not solve the issues we have, because it is inherently divisive.

There is no good reason to NOT reject the GOP who are still enabling and pushing the *policies* of hatred coming from GOP cult.
Bipartisanship won’t happen until the GOP kicks out the grifter (Former Guy) and take their party back.

Still not looking at the bigger picture, Rusha.

Again, BOTH PARTIES are part of the problem, because the form of government we have has made them that way.

To solve that means a change in government, not just one party.

Democrats kicked God out of schools 60 years ago. Democrats legalized the murder of innocent children 50 years ago. Democrats kicked God out of their Black Muslim convention 10 years ago. And now democrats are on the road to silencing Christians in Obiden's new illegitimate American Socialist Democrat Black Muslim Marxist Nation.

Prior to the previous election, I might have agreed with you. I am a conservative democrat which is why I didn’t support Bernie.

I am not sure we agree with the specific changes in government that are necessary though perhaps that is going off-topic and needs a thread of it’s own.

Most of those who support democrats do so for the money. They see big government spending as a link to their own financial prosperity and see democrats as the big spenders. They don't care if democrats promote lawlessness, depravity, and socialist opposition to free-market capitalism.

Did government get bigger or smaller under Trump? Did spending increase or did it decrease?

Do democrats see Trump as a big supporter of global warming schemes and scams? I don't think so. Do democrats see Trump as a big supporter of billion-dollar funding for abortions worldwide? I don't think so. Do democrats see Trump as a big spender on black entitlements and reparations? I don't think so. Do democrats see Trump supporting leftist colleges promoting atheism and communism? I don't think so. Do democrats hate Trump for catering to Christians and conservatives? Absolutely.

None of that answers my question to you, which was, Did government get bigger or smaller under Trump? Did spending increase or did it decrease?

Trump's 2019 budget was "The Largest Budget Deficit With A Strong Economy" according to a Forbes headline:

"At the projected 4.6% for fiscal 2019 it will be the largest in a non-recession year, and the red line shows it will only be worse..."

Source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckj...t-deficit-with-a-strong-economy/#3bca5bb949d1

According to Forbes, President Trump was handed an economy that was growing. In 2017, his first year in office the deficit grew to $666 billion, was $984 billion in 2018 and was projected to be over $1 trillion in 2020 at $1.02 trillion. This would be a 74% increase in just four years... -- https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckjo.../#4ae6a71b4819

The government grew under Trump. I do not believe that is a credit to him.
