No, He is not doing that. That is what Satan wants you to say. Obeying Jesus' beautiful powerful words is good, it is life giving.
God is merciful God, He will not whip anyone who are willing to follow Him.
He is looking into our hearts if we are willing.
We may note to the bold above, that while Calvinism assures itself by a concept of the U, L, I and P of its formula...it implodes upon itself rendering 'insecurity' really, since one can never really KNOW if one is saved or lost, except for some consistency in the life or actions of the believer himself, which may swing from one end of the pendulum to the other, since a soul may backslide, choose another life-path or even religious tradition, so that one can go outside of the ruling context of TULIP at any moment- so all you have is a religious formula, a propositional assumption, which has 'conditional' elements in it, even while it assumes assurance of the saved. IT STILL DEPENDS ON MANS ACTIONS, his conditional state as to whether God's grace is working in that persons life,....its still about 'synergestic' cooperation, argue that til blue in the face if you like. All 'covenants' are the cooperative effort and trust of 2 persons or parties, NOT the total doing of just one of the parties, to which there would not even be a 'covenant' existing, neither operative.

Jesus did not teach the old law.
Not only did Jesus teach the Old Testament law, he elevated it and spiritualized it. The law now searches the desires and the intent of the heart, Hebrews 4:12. To be under it is to be under condemnation.

Jesus taught the new law, it is the old law with some changes. See Hebrews 7:12
It is not a new law. It is the Law of Moses only elevated and spiritualized. Christians are not under it, nor are they subject to it. To be under it or subject to it is to be under condemnation.

The Bible says there are changes to the old law and it makes a new law.
You are an enemy of the truth. See Hebrews 7:12.
The change of the law is that it has been abolished, but only for the Christian. Its gone, Ephesians 2:15. The new way to live is not by rules, laws or religion. The new way to live is by faith, Paul said, "The Just Shall Live By Faith" Romans 1:16. Living by rules, law and religion is not living by faith. Its living by the flesh. Jesus fulfilled the law and abolished it because it was contrary to us, no one could do it or keep it, Colossian 2:14.
