Is the doctrine of Eternal Conscious Torment biblical or not?

God's Truth,

But if He can kill the spirit, then it is not immortal as CatholicCrusader asserts.

The scripture says man cannot kill the body with the spirit.

Since man cannot kill it, how do you think it dies after the death of the body?

The scripture says destroy. Destroy does not always mean an end to all forms of life.

Again, how do you think the spirit dies if man cannot kill it?

Even if you believe that God will kill the spirit of men in the lake of fire...what do you think is happening to all the spirits now? They are not dead, that is for sure.

we are talking about life of body and soul here

destroy means destroy

We have already discussed what destroy means.

Why don't you reply to what else I said?

1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

If annihilationism is true and those who are cast into the lake of fire will be destroyed then there is a major contradiction in Revelation with this passage. Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell (Hades) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This indicates two things. The first is that death is destroyed before anyone is cast into the lake of fire. This means that if death is the last enemy that is destroyed then those cast into the lake of fire after death are not enemies. It seems unlikely that God would destroy those who are not enemies... Second, this indicates that immortality of the human soul is not correct, for only those in this group not found written in the book of life are cast into the lake of fire. This means that there are those in this group that are found written in the book of life among the dead taken out of death and hell (Hades).

Death, which is a Ruler of the darkness of this world, is an evil spirit as is Hell. They will be tormented forever as will all evil spirits and wicked men.

The souls of the wicked are destroyed by God, who is able to destroy both body and soul in Gehenna. Nobody here is saying that the soul is destroyed by man "who can kill the body but can't destroy the soul".

You do not believe that we have spirits that live on after the death of our bodies. Tell me, since man cannot kill it, how do you think it dies after the death of the body?

The spirit is not the soul.

Soul means life.

Christ returns to raise the dead to life.

None are alive when they are dead.

To say they are alive is to say Christ did not die, as all spiritualism teaches.

The body becomes a soul by the spirit.

The body becomes a soul by the spirit.

It makes no difference whether the spirit dies or not, for if one is dead then they are dead.

The life of all flesh originally came from God but that does not mean the human spirit retains its form or consciousness of a living person when they are dead.

The only exception could be Jesus but if that was so then Jesus remains a natural person, which he does not.

1Co 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?

Jesus knew what was in man because He was one of them, and it was the things of man in His human spirit which He had overcome and laid down, through many tears and prayers before He was baptized by John.

When Jesus died, He fully died and was afterward fully resurrected.

Didn't I already say? Oh Well, not a problem. According to the Bible, the wicked are completely destroyed by God when He returns. Man doesn't kill the soul or the spirit, but God is able to destroy both body and soul in Gehenna.

Yes God is able to destroy the soul, but never makes the claim that He will. In fact it is the opposite; He claims love and salvation for the world. You need to stop equating what Jesus claims that God is capable of with what He has declaired will happen. Read 1 Timothy 2:4-6...
