You missed it, shill. The "Virgin" Mary, i.e., Rome's title implies/asserts that she was always a virgin.

She was not, after the Lord Jesus Christ was born.

And it was not a "virgin birth"-it was a normal, human birth.

There was a virgin conception.

No no no. By "early Christians," I meant those whose lives and ways are recorded in the New Testament.
So, then, it's your opinion that those who were personally discipled and taught by the apostles themselves or their immediate successors somehow possessed beliefs and practices not held by the apostles themselves?

Ah, the know-it-alls come out in force...All of Christendom believed in Mary's perpetual virginity for over 1500 years. Even the Reformers believed it. But thou art the all-seeing, all-knowing, arrogant, "correctors" of all history.

What's really weird is that a lot of these guys don't even accept the Apostles, just Paul. (But not his churches of course!)

Just one of the latest Protestant (non-Catholic) trends. It'll pass, and they'll move on to some other wholly subjective and entirely non-authoritative tradition of men.

God's Word says nothing of it.

1.Made up. Asserting that Mary was perpetually sinless, and perpetually a virgin(as merely one example), as the RCO officially teaches(the documentation of this is easily attainable) is not merely extra-biblical(tradition), it contradicts the Holy Bible. No amount of "spin", or "mental gymnastics", or "redefining biblical words" can justify such doctrine(teachings)-the "interpretation" of such scriptural passages is so simple that one not have an "MBA from heaven" to understand their plain sense meaning. And....

2. Quite irrelevant, shill-ette, as when you discover objective truth, in no way determines its veracity, nor does consensus determine objective truth.

You don't even know what the definition of an apostle is, biblically, do you?

Let Me guess: You are scrambling to your "Catholic Answers" book.

Given that the icon in the OP was painted in the mid 2nd-century, your question about something that would not occur for another fourteen-hundred years seems a bit out of place.
Not in the slightest bit. The Holy Orthodox venerate the Mother of God, but they don't emphasize her categorically above all other saints like the Holy Catholic Church does. This changed after the Reformation, and so it is only reasonable to conclude that Peter thought it best to shine Mary's light more brightly than he had before because of, in some way, the Reformation. There's no difference between the Orthodox and the HCC regarding Mary unless you know the answer to this---and I don't know the answer, but I am fiercely curious to know why.

Are you for real? Of course she's a mother, who do you think is denying that? She's the Theotokos.

And in your verse there, do you notice that Jesus says "behold your mother", "behold your son" to the Apostle John? He would not have done that if she had other children.

"Mother of God?" RCO vile, wicked deception.

Matthew 1 KJV

1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Is David, "The Father of God?"

Luke 1 KJV

36And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Is Elizabeth, the "Aunt of God?"

Is John the Baptist, "The cousin of God?"
_______________

Genesis 3 JV

20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

Is Eve, the "Grand granny of Mary/God?"

I asked you to show in the Bible where Mary was revered as a perpetual virgin. If you can't (and you can't), be man enough to admit it. You can't. We know you can't. You know we know you can't. Admit it. But don't try to fog the air with idiotically distracting questions. It makes you appear juvenile.
