For some time now they've been reporting gun deaths as a form of disease. All political of course.
I'm guessing part of it is that "C-D-C" sounds better than "C-D-P."
But other than that, disease prevention isn't always possible, only control, which does include, to some extent, prevention...
I'm sure when the CDC was originally created, there was no malicious intent implied by "controlling diseases."

The Associated Press directed media outlets to avoid using the term “assault weapons” in a Wednesday tweet from its AP Stylebook account.
“The preferred term for a rifle that fires one bullet each time the trigger is pulled, and automatically reloads for a subsequent shot, is a semi-automatic rifle,” the AP said in a graphic included in the Twitter post. “An automatic rifle continuously fires rounds if the trigger is depressed and until its ammunition is exhausted.”
“Avoid assault rifle and assault weapon, which are highly politicized terms that generally refer to AR- or AK-style rifles designed for the civilian market, but convey little meaning about the actual functions of the weapon,” the graphic said.

I heard the responsible citizen is a 22 year old man, he hit the (presumed suicidal) mass murderer with 8-out-of-10 shots, and from 40 yards away.

...And then he practiced...Alot.
I might have been able to duplicate his performance when I was in my prime, but I doubt I could have bested him. I'm going to go out on a limb here and also say he's also got what has been referred to as a "cold nerve". He doesn't rattle, doesn't slip into condition black, doesn't go all tunnel vision. He's able to separate himself from his fears and concentrate on the job.I say this due to the descriptions of his performance...Advancing on the target, steady aimed fire while simultaneously, not only being aware of others, but directing them to safety behind him.
Thank GOD he's on our side.
