Dear Alwight,

How's things going on the Island?!! I hope the weather is pleasant. We are having the most wonderful summer here since I've been here. It hasn't been too hot at all, considering other summers. We're barely gone over 110 so far, and not very often. Right now, we are in the 70s (at night). It was like 98 today for a high. 2morrow, I'm having another Pool Party. I went and bought the meat. It cost $25. Then I bought a bottle of Svedka Vodka which was $20. He's bringing all of the rest. I'm making the meat. It's called Kibbee. It can be eaten raw or cooked. We like some of both. You mix fine ground wheat in with the meat, along with spices and grated onion. I use 7-spice and cumin. And salt of course. The wheat is soaked in cold water for 1/2 hour before you add it to the meat (ground beef of excellent quality, no fat, no gristle, pure beef). I got 4 lbs. or so. It's $6.99/lb., but it's worth it. Only once a month or two. I usually get lamb ribs when I'm there also, but not this time.

How's your Mom doing? I sure hope she is well. Has it been hot there this summer? I hope not. You have the sea breezes blowing over the island, don't you? I hope it's not humid. Here we've been more humid than hot. It's been raining a lot. Almost subtropical here. I can't complain. I remember how humid it got in Michigan, and that was WAY worse than here. I like to hibernate in the house whenever possible.

Well, I made Fried Chicken today. Lots of work. I used plastic surgical gloves, so it wouldn't be so messy. Flour, then egg and spices, then flour again. Then fry it up. It was really good. I'm getting hungry just talking about it. I will have a piece before I go to bed maybe.

Well, if you'd like, send me a PM and let me know how you are doing. That's the only way that I will know.

Cheerio!!

There were eggs hundreds of millions of years before there were chickens.

Stuart

Dear Stuu,

You know I meant CHICKEN EGGS. Not crocodile eggs, etc. So how are you doing? It's been a while. I'm enjoying myself tonight and it is like 2:45am here. Where are you at? In New Zealand, right?? My memory isn't as sharp as it used to be, but still I get by pretty dang well. What's your weather like there?? Ah, you are having your winter, so it can't be all that bad. You don't get snow, right?? Well, I'd like to hear from you if you have some time to spare. Let me know what's up with you!!

Ciao & Cheerio,

Michael

P.S. You can always PM me.

No, you meant not dinosaur eggs.

Birds evolved from dinosaurs, not crocodiles.

Stuart

Hi Stuart, So glad to hear from you, buddy!! Yes, I know that dinosaurs had eggs too. I find it compelling to call a crocodile or armadillo, or an elephant descendants of dinosaurs. An elephant is just a woolly mammoth without the heavy coat of hair. As far as how dinosaurs were extinguished from the Earth, I can only imagine that they had another mishap as when Noah and his family was saved out of all of the rest of the world. Do you know how powerful that message is. God would just as soon as get rid of you as look at you when you've swallowed too much evil. Dinosaurs had to leave the Earth in order for mankind to have dominion over all of the creatures of the Earth. Otherwise it couldn't happen. It says in Gen. 1:26, that God would allow that man shall have dominion over all of the other creatures in the Earth. Man wouldn't have had much of an advantage over a Tyrannosaurus, even with simple spears. They had to go, even the brontosaurus. And so the story rages on!!

Just Great Hearing From You!! Don't be a stranger!!

Dear Hedshaker,

How are you doing amigo?? I'm trying to catch up with all of my TOL friends. What is NEW? You hardly ever post here. I know your time is valuable, but you could let me know how things are going every once in a while. Just because we disagree about evolution is no reason to not love each other. You been playing guitar at all?? I'm going to have a jam fest with a Pool Party I am planning 2morrow. I can get three guitars and one mic plugged into my amp. The amp is like worth $3,000. I can only turn it to 1 or it is too loud. It's a collector's item. (EMG B2000). It kicks 'em out!! We're also going to have margaritas, and coconut rum with Pepsi. I'm making a Middle Eastern meal and my nephew is bringing one of the courses with him (Baba ganoush). I'm making raw kibbee. After the first day, you have to cook them instead of eating it raw. My nephew has not had it for like 30 years. So he's really anticipating it. I get it every month or two. I also buy lamb ribs. YUMM!!

How's life treating you?? You been doing anything with that voice of yours and guitar. You singing pretty well. Lots of people can't even carry a tune. I'm glad I'm not there. I had one hell of a voice back when I was 21. Now I'm 58 and have trouble remembering the words sometimes or the chords. If I have the sheet music, then I'm fine. But I used to know the words and chords to over 1,000 songs all in my head back when I played in bars. I still do okay. I sound a lot like Cat Stevens/Yusuf. He was my biggest male influence and Stevie Nicks, my best female influence.

When you going to send me another video. It would be nice if you'd make one and send it to me on the Internet. Don't feel bashful. It would be a treat!! I know, I'm hardly the one to say bashful. I could do a performance and camcorder it. Maybe soon. I definitely still can sing. But before I had a full vocal range. Mine is a bit limited now.

I'm sorry I don't write more often. I usually don't get a chance too because I have to defend my stance against everyone. But that should not be. There are better things to talk about. God, just let us get along with being people, evolution or no evolution. No reason something such as that should get in the way of being buddies. I will PM you or so and let you know I posted here for you. I know you probably don't check my site out very often, so you won't know it's here. Yeah Sunday!!

Well, will get going. Please send my love to all of your loved ones and give them a hug for me.

Best Wishes And Cheerio!!

Dear Noguru,

You certainly should be visiting more with me than you are. We are both Christians and believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. What more could we hope for except to be good friends and buddies. I can't believe how you quit posting to me for some reason or another. Just because I'm at a loss to believe in either YEC or OEC, doesn't mean I'm out of the movie. I am still studying and praying about the situation. I would love to come out OEC, but do you know that YEC is easier and more calming to me. Still, it could be right.

So what's been happening?? How is your fiance', you lucky dude. Hey, I wish I was hetero and allowed to have a wife and kids. But I belong to Jesus, and have no choice. When's the date?? December?? I can't remember, but I'm not a spring chicken anymore. Whenever it counts more, I can pull through it. My guardian angel helps me remember a lot!!

I made some delicious Fried Chicken in the frying pan this time. Maryland Fried Chicken. Usually, I still it in the frying pan, then transfer it to the oven for the remainder of cooking it. Not this time, though. It's good either way and this turned out scrumptious. I add some McCormick's Lemon Pepper and some secret ingredient, and it was delectable. If I didn't cook so good, I would lose some weight.

I got some new stuff to help me lose weight. It's called Keybiotics. I want to get rid of this beer belly. It's not really a BEER belly, but I look like I'm having a baby and my breasts could use an A cup. Hey, I miss you and you hardly ever write to me to share the latest. You're in the Northeast right? Are you in Connecticut?? Well, your summer is going great!! I don't know what winter is like there, but if you aren't getting a lot of rain, then you are doing great!!

Do some water skiing, or deep sea diving. Even fishing might be very interesting. You've probably got tons of fish waiting to eat your bait. Even fly fishing. I gave up here because the fish all know about the hook. They jump out of the water and back in, just to let us know they are there, and yet we don't get a bite!! I think maybe if we came early, we could catch some. We just have to go there the night before and get up at 5am when they are eating. For all it's worth though, maybe it's not as easy as paying $7/lb. for them. I would love to catch me some bass or salmon. Even pike would be fine. I went fishing for pike once and I used shiners (like little silver fish, smelt) and I'd get a fish every time. But when we went to net them, my fishing buddies had to try to get the net over them and couldn't do it because the handle was not long enough. So they would break the line when faced with coming out of the water. They didn't like that AT ALL.

Well, I'm sorry to be writing a novelette. You take great care and May God Reside Above Your Soul!!

Dear Stuu,

So am I to be told that my chicken is result of a pterodactyl or not?? I can deal with it very badly. I'd be surprised if a chicken even existed back then. But most likely they did. God's Imagination is THAT GREAT!! And now we have egg machines and chicken for dinner. Life has been interesting. Better than you will ever know. If you only knew. Well, am going to get going for the night and have me some fried chicken. Yippee!!

Will get back to you soon. Reconsider giving me a PM, but it's up to you.

Good Friends Hang Together,

Michael

Barbarian observes:
So they are now subspecies. But tell me, do you think you could get a viable cross between a wolf and a chihuahua?

Yes. They are Genetically Similar Enough to Reproduce. Granted they will most likely need to be artificially Inseminated.

Then they aren't a single species. They have to be able to reproduce on their own in the wild. So there, by your definition, are two species.

(SeaSigh imagines that science thought wolves and dogs were different species)

Barbarian observes:
When I was an undergraduate in the 60s, textbooks said that they were subspecies. Remember when I told you that not knowing what you were talking about, could trip you up?

Yeah, Like I said, Your science is Old, you should update it.

Still the same. That hasn't changed, because the genetic evidence says the same thing.

They are now considered the Same Exact Species.

Well, let's take a look...

http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.23...00&uid=2&uid=4&uid=3739256&sid=21104618320333

Still considered a subspecies, one of a number of wolf subspecies. Surprised?

Barbarian observes:
We don't know who faked Piltdown Man, but we know he couldn't have been very smart about evolution, since the prediction was that an upright stance would have preceded a large brain. Piltdown had it the other way. So, it was with considerable relief among scientists, that an "evolutionist" showed it to be a fake. It was a much greater embarrassment when it was still not known to be a face, than after it was debunked by scientists.

It's one of the major differences between science and creationism. Science changes when the evidence indicates. For creationists, the evidence has to be changed to fit their doctrines.

Yes that's Right Barbie

Of course. As I said, it's one onf the major differences between science and creationism.

The Fact is, Evolutionists Believed a Lie

As you just learned, it was "evolutionists" who debunked the fraud. You have it backwards again.

Because Piltdown Man was contrary to evolutionary theory, it was a distinct embarrassment until someone found a way to demonstrate it was a fake. Then the problem went away.

If you Believed that Crazy lie about a Pig's Tooth

I'm guessing you were told the "pig tooth" fable creationists often use. But they got it wrong. It was a javelina, not a pig, and the tooth was strangely worn down to resemble a primate tooth. But it was found by a dinosaur expert, who got it wrong. As soon as a primate specialist looked at it, the error was discovered.

Not what the told you? That's another big difference between scientists and creationists.

why should I believe anything Evols Say?

The reason you keep embarrassing yourself here is precisely because you're too gullible. Stop trusting people who tell you things and check the evidence for yourself.

Thanks for helping me Clarify my Point, I didn't know they never Cared to Check who Claimed the Find.

That just shows how Incompetent Evols are at Recognizing Truth.

Why are you asking an atheist why he can't see "God's creation"? There are no such things as gods! If your question is "How did the universe come to be like this", then perhaps you have the start of a critical approach to the question. But you are begging the question of the existence of the god.

Did you watch the TED talk?

Stuart
Belief in God as creator of creation is not weird. His creation testifies to His existence. That we can even observe it testifies to His existence (and ours), not to mention that we can also learn about who God is through observation of His creation. His creation has His footprint, or identity and character, manifest throughout.

I know you meant this for barbarian, so please forgive me for answering this as well.

I did experience the opposite for 17 years. I was born and raised in a Catholic family. But at the age of 12 I had settled on agnosticism/atheism, based on my knowledge that ancient humans lacked a scientific vocabulary as well noticing that they used religion to scare others into submission.

I choose not to use religion for that purpose. I have decided to use it as a way of liberation, rather than subjugation.

In all honesty I don't think I ever really believed it. That is I did in as much as....... why would I deny the words of parents, teachers, priests etc? But in truth, it always felt far fetched in the privacy of my own mind, still does. I guess I'm a natural sceptic. I didn't choose none belief. I have no choice for what stares me in the face

I do leave myself open to understanding reality as it is presented to me. I do not claim to have "Truth", I only claim to have understanding regarding what I do and/or do not know. I am not opposed to analyzing and reformulating "traditional" beliefs in theology.

Good for you. That's honest. I would rather a millisecond of truth, or as near as I can get, warts an all, to being soaked in a universe of feel good beliefs.

I also respect you for your honesty. I certainly have more respect and confidence for an honest atheist (I include you in that group) than I do for a deceitful theist.

Thank you :thumb:

Strangely Michael we just had the coldest August night temperature on record apparently, global warming huh! :D

As above despite the cold nights the weather here remains very pleasant most of the time, just enough rain. ;)
My mum's fine for a 90 year old, thanks for asking, I took her out yesterday.
This has nothing to with Creation v Evolution Michael, are you actually all that interested in Darwinian evolution I wonder?
;)

Leaving your religious platitudes to one side I really don't see how supposing a particular "God"/Creator actually is an answer to anything. It simply must require that a much deeper unexplained mystery remains, just to explain a lesser one. Do we need to suppose an even more powerful god to explain the existence of "God"?

Disease, congenital dysfunction, pain, chronic suffering, parasites, poisons, stings, cruelty, predation, natural disasters... all seem to be rather so easily and conveniently filtered out of your "His creation testifies to His existence" scenario, presumably simply through the doctrinal expediency of "Original Sin" as a supposed curse on all of humanity, and all that for no particularly well explained reason I've ever noticed anyway, other than a supposed "perfect" God would need it.

Your God needs to be given a no-lose, non-culpability, win-only free pass by creationists, which is just what "He" gets as a given.

The only true God has to be the Creator.

Romans chapter 1 reveals God as the creator, and His creation as a revelation of Himself (His character (attributes)) are clearly seen in that which has been made.

Romans for Skeptics

Paul was a bad influence on Christianity. And nowhere is this more evident than in his epistle to the Romans. Here Paul fully exposes his nastiest belief: that salvation is a completely arbitrary decision on the part of God; none of us has anything to do with it. The only free will that exists in the universe is God's.

Who cares what some guy called Paul thinks?
Not me anyway. :nono:

So what?
This particular Paul could be just as wrong as anyone else called Paul about anything.
Of course any person could be wrong, as you say. But throughout the New Testament Paul explains (salvation in) God and Jesus to both Jew first and then also the Gentile world.
