Yes...I think I can agree with you... (You know the 'but' is next)Something wrong here, big time. A philosophical approach that proves whatever religion you choose to adopt to be the right one is actually just a placebo.
Religions are a philosophical approach to life. And, they all disagree with one another don't they?
So... we have one of two choices...
1) ALL religions, including atheism are wrong
2) One religion is correct, and all others are wrong.
Now... of all the religions, including atheism, man is trying to make himself good enough. (To please others, self, God, gods). But Christianity tells us something different from all other religions. You aren't good enough. I'm not good enough. We are corrupt sinners.
When we stand before our Maker at the judgement, all our attempts at making ourselves 'good' will fall short of God's standard. But the good news is that God's Son, Jesus Christ has offered to be our mediator. Jesus stepped in and He made me righteous. I almost shudder calling myself righteous, because I so often fail Him... But thats what His Word tells us...
2Cor. 5:21 "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."
So...its not what I do...its all about what Christ has already done.
John 3:16 ""For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
