The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Um, no. It spins at around 1,000 mph. Not 10,000. It's no wonder you're having problems with this stuff, Dave. Where in the world did you get 10,000 mph for how fast the earth spins? Florida (north end is around 30 degrees North) is spinning around 900 mph (give or take 5). St. Louis...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Saying it doesn't make it so. If you think that, then why not just start a thread, instead of posting it here, because of what you said below? Start a new thread. Then why bother posting this post here? Why not start one yourself, you seem so adamant on posting about it here...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Hasty generalization. Also red herring, as that's not what this thread is about. Still irrational. What's amusing is that you're doing exactly what Dave has been doing the last few times he's posted, and you don't even seem to realize it. So far, the only ones here being irrational are the...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

In other words, what you meant to say was "when dealing with Christians," desu yo ne? For someone who, apparently, is making himself out to be a rational thinker, you seem to have failed the first step of thinking rationally, and that is to know your (in this case, Hed's) opponent's...

Do angels and demons use public transportation?

In the Bible, we see in multiple instances where it takes time for angels to get from point A to point B. For example: So what do you think? Do you think that angels and demons use public transportation to get around the world easier? (Disclaimer: there is no real way to know for sure, so...

    Are you Going to Heaven?

/r/Christianity? Yeah, that's a very liberal subreddit. I've had posts that use biblical arguments downvoted to oblivion. TOL isn't reddit. Follow the rules and you'll be fine. :thumb: If you were downvoted in that way, there's a good chance that what you said was good. So... Um... What...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I didn't say that. I said post something substantive. Linking to a YouTube video is not substantive. People are here on TOL to discuss ideas and beliefs with people, not watch conspiracy videos on YouTube. If you would like to post a YouTube link, please provide a summary of which parts of the...

Patrick, i know you just came back, but if you don't provide something substantive, I'm going to kick you from the thread.

I'm pretty sure he's retired now. I'm still waiting on a response to the Flood argument I presented.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Sorry, dave, but that box is, in fact, moving. The point I'm trying to make is that the point doesn't have to be immobile for it to be a reference point. Please answer my questions now: You're fixating on the earth, Dave. Forget the earth for a moment. Let's say you have a cardboard box...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Nope, sorry dave. The box is on a rocket ship flying through empty space. Care to actually answer the question this time, instead of dodging the question?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

You're fixating on the earth, Dave. Forget the earth for a moment. Let's say you have a cardboard box, with two ants on top of it, and you somehow are able to control them, so you have them start in the center of the box, and have one go one direction, and the other ant go the opposite...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Incorrect. You have a reference point that, relative to itself, is not moving. You don't need the ground to measure distance, just a way to measure distance. SURE YOU DO! you have one car as your reference point, and the other car moving at 120 mph away from it. The ground has nothing to do...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Sure it does. Relative to the reference point, the reference point is not moving, and everything else is. Relative to a car traveling at 60 mph, the car next to it going in the same direction is not moving at all, while the earth moves under both vehicle's wheels.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

No, not that they're not moving. Just that they aren't moving relative to the other objects.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Dave, it's the same thing. The only difference is that the reference point is the other car, not the earth.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Nice bait and switch attempt, Dave. If they both travel in the opposite direction from the other, at 60 miles per hour, after one hour, they will be 120 miles away from each other, yet only 60 miles from their starting point. You, Dave, are the one saying that that doesn't make sense, when it...
