Not if the clarification isn't provided. Perhaps you can't--I appreciate the up front admission. Saves us all time.

So you don't consider asking for clarification part of "dialogue"?

when did Peter use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven ?

I don't always get Dan's meaning, so maybe you can help. He seemed to think that water wasn't a part of that passage, and you agree with me that it is. I think he agrees with you that water baptism isn't applicable today. Can you help me understand why 1. he would want to say there's no water...

@Skeeter, thanks for addressing this to me, and for starting a new thread--that's a great way to do it. I'm sorry I didn't see it until last night. If you want to address a particular member, use the @ symbol followed by the user name, and it will ping me directly. Like this: @username...

when did Peter use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven ?

The question was whether there was water in those verses. The answer I gave was that there definitely was water in those verses. Are you saying the verses were dry verses?

Is that an apology (sans retraction, understandably) for calling me dingbat? You're too kind.

Apparently, you're doing quite a good job without my help.

I appreciate the reason, though according to Brain, mere personal opinion is all that's needed to establish morality.

Yes, we are all worthy of death due to our inability to live up to that perfect moral standard, and we all need the mercy of God exhibited in the death of his own son for us, so that we might live who believe on him.

Welcome back, AB. I've already given reason, beyond my own opinion (which, unlike so many around here, I don't expect anyone to adhere to merely because of my superb personality), why it isn't rape, but since you have so little respect for anything authoritative, except your internal moral...

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

No one gets to God except through Jesus. And when he was lifted up, he drew all men to himself. We should be careful not to insert another salvation barrier where none exists, as B57 does, where hold the keys to the kingdom, but don't allow others to enter.

when did Peter use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven ?

Seems you're working extra hard to read something into that scripture that isn't there, or maybe read something out of it that is there. There's water in this: Acts 19:3-6 (KJV) 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John...

That's odd that you would call your own post gibberish, but I agree with you. I think what you're saying with your illustration is that after a certain age, a married couple needs permission from you to have sex more than once a month. But I can't see why anyone would come to that conclusion...

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

Not true! B57 has been evangelizing here at TOL for years, though he's logically inconsistent in doing so.

Exactly! That's because they are a god unto themselves--no one, in their minds, can tell them what's right or wrong. It's all "internal moral compass", which no one is qualified to critique.
