You know what Gorbachev's support is in Russia? He's tied with Yeltsin at 5%. The Russian people see both men as selling out Russian interests. Yeah, great chance of democracy.
Putin was a president before he became a dictator. He could have just remained a president, served a few terms with Russia's best interests in mind, and then passed the torch on to the next elected leader. He didn't. Instead, he chose to become the dictator of Russia for life.

I don't usually listen to Sean Hannity because I can't stand him but I thought this was worth sharing. Hannity is way more hawkish than I'm comfortable with, I wish more people would at least consider Tulsi's viewpoint. Yes I agree with Hannity that Putin has been reluctant to negotiate a ceasefire and a settlement, but I don't agree with him that the only arrow in our quiver at this point is a vigorous reminder of mutually assured destruction.
That's a fair point in the sense that Trump tried to pull the same thing here that Putin did in Russia, but we didn't allow Trump to get away with it.
