WHY ARE SOME POSTERS SECRETIVE ABOUT WHAT CHURCH THEY'RE AFFILIATED WITH?

You have to wonder why some posters refuse to divulge
what church or denomination they're affiliated with? It
seems like such a simple task yet, there are a number
of posters who refuse to answer?

Finding out what church someone goes to will tell you
what they believe at times. Personally, I believe they
don't wish to name the affiliation because others will
reject them as part of a cult, false belief system, or
some form of unorthodox religious sect?

This is a Christian forum, how a cultist or other poster would
feel comfortable on such a forum is beyond me? Some come
here to disrupt perhaps? Very few come to learn or seek after
true Christian doctrines, I've noticed. Some people love to argue
and others devout themselves to name calling and posting
lengthy posts that no one desires to read.

I'm a Non-Denominational Christian, and member of the Body
of Christ. I believe in and preach "Paul's Gospel." (The Grace
Message) I've always attended small community churches
since 1962. Why are some posters "afraid" to admit their
religious affiliation? Fear of rejection? Fear of being made
fun of? Fear of being embarrassed? What's your fear?

I'm an independent, fundamental, KJV only, grace by faith alone, eternal security of the believer, Baptist. Just thought I'd reiterate even though I've never concealed this fact.

Once you share your life on this website you are open to attack, criticism and mockery.

Especially when it comes to personal beliefs.

Maybe it's kind of like the abusive parent who says to their child
"Why did you spill that milk on the table."

The parent could care less "why"--only that something bad or wrong has been done.

To a child, to ask them "why" puts him/her into an almost impossible bind--to come up with some sort of "reasoning" why s/he dropped the milk.

It is inappropriate to ask "why" since the child will be disciplined or spanked in any case.

And once someone shares their denomination with other posters, they are vulnerable to attack.

Because they've already encountered resistance from Bible believers, or at least from mainline Christians, and know many of us would have nothing to do with them just based on their doctrines. But they want conversation so badly (or in Meshak's case, attention) they hide where they attend/what they really believe as long as they can. It's dishonesty, and often not because they're afraid of debate, but because they don't want to be shut out.

Take Meshak, for example. She admits she's an ex-JW but will not admit that her core doctrines are still Watchtower, so she's refused to discuss them anymore. That's dishonest.

Sure sign of a troll and/or a cultist: ask them what "other" means, or what "Christian" specifically means, and they refuse to ever tell you.

Myself I have never been secretive about our church affiliation.

International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICGF)

Yes, it is Pentecostal, a very conservative Pentecostal Church/Denomination.

So? They'll survive, will they not? Are you afraid to tell us and if
so, why?

Let me clarify: they know they do not believe or preach the Gospel of grace, which is the main point they'll be opposed on, and that's the main reason they play coy -- not just doctrine in general.

There are those who post "Other" and then refuse to identify
what that means. That way, it makes it difficult for fellow
posters to have a conversation, with such. Some say they are
Christian Other and refuse to say what that means.

On a Christian Forum why should posters be so secretive? The
only reason is, they know that, they'll have problems with those
who confess, outright, that they are a member of the Body of
Christ, believe in, Grace received by faith alone, and believe
that the Bible is the "Written Word of God."

1 Peter 3:15 states: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

Does that sound like a "True Believer" ought to be secretive?

One should be willing to speak up and say, without hesitation: "I'm a "True
Believer in the Grace Message, delivered by the Apostle Paul and given to
Paul by the "Ascended Lord Jesus Christ!" I have heard the Message of my
Salvation, placed my faith in Christ as my Savior, been sealed, indwelt , and
baptized (not by water) into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. There's
nothing that should be secretive about that kind of Testimony.
