so how are you doing?

still working on the ice maker

what's the problem?

something is blocking the flow of water

maybe it is frozen

pouring hot water in should take care of that

is the solenoid working?

yes

did the ice cubes have stuff in them

yes

that must be what is blocking the water

that is what I am thinking

so you are back?

yeah

are you settled in?

no

how long will that take?

I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get back to some kind of normal

is that so necessary?

for me it is

isn't that like being in a rut?

well I try to make it a comfortable one

Between the ages of 27 and 31 I moved 5 times. Then we finally got settled after 2 years at that house I was in a panic to put everything in a box and start over. I had to fight that feeling. It can be exciting to move.

I'm moving boxes I haven't unpacked from the last move thirteen years ago

and boats that haven't moved for thirteen years - took the last two of ten in the backyard last weekend - still have the three in the living room, but they'll go in the moving van.

then, all of the shop - the milling machine and cabinets full of tooling's gonna be a pain in the neck, along with the welding bench, but at least I have the backhoe working to help in unloading.

Good to see you back Chrys! :wave2:

so what are you reading now?

Watergate by Fred Emery

isn't that old news?

this is a good book and I have read a lot of watergate books

you should start a thread on watergate

I think I will when I get back to some kind of normal

what's so good about this book?

this guy does not have ax to grind and he starts with the huston plan

what is that?

not many know about it and it started over a year before watergate

why don't we know about it?

after the watergate crisis was over no one wanted to go back to see all all this got started

some never get tired of hearing about watergate

that's me

I am a Watergate fan :) "thar can be no whitewash at the Whitehouse"

Why I think Richard Nixon got such a raw deal is not because he wasn't a rascal but because they are ALL rascals.

I've been reading a lot of Kissinger's works lately, especially around the white house years

and I just finished Nixon's Memoirs - that's one I plan to add to my personal library

I was fourteen when Nixon resigned

this is true

so who are your favorite watergate characters?

mine are:

john mitchel
and
patrick gray

No mine is the rascal himself...he is so complexious a character, with his Quaker upbringing, to me he is an inverted prude, a good apple turned bad....but that old moral Nixon shines through sometimes.

His naturally open face was shadowed

Did you know David Frost had the same moral upbringing as Nixon and he was the one who pierced the Nixon armour and got him to spill the beans publicly.
