Tides Caused by the Moon?

The human body is actually slightly less dense than water which is why you float. Rocks are far more dense than you are so why would they float?

There is a huge difference between not having seen and not knowing. While we don't know with 100% certainty, we have very good ideas because we have done the science. We have observed and studied and found that the layer model most accurately matches what we observe.
idThe land itself may be less dense than water. Put a rock on s boat and it floats. Again, I admit this is speculation because we don't know what is under the earth. I've heard different theories proposed in flat earth books from the 19th and 20th centuries and newer ones like those by Eric Dubay. It is all speculation though.

The layer model based on observation isn't much because we haven't observed much. We've only seen 8 miles down. Just because we see magma that far doesn't mean it is that way the whole ways down. If you lived at the bottom of the ocean, you could assume that it is dark the whole way up if you never went beyond the darkness.

It is all speculation but proponents of the mainstream model won't admit it.

So Daniel;
In your model Antarctica is a ring around the edge of the disk that is Earth?
Is that correct?
Do you have a map of this?
Or asked another way; what map do you use to get around with?

Not always. The "boat" has to weigh less than the water it displaces. The density and weight of water is known. This is why steel ships can float. When you understand Newtonian physics of our world, then maybe things won't be so fuzzy for you.

It sounds like your speculation is leading you to say that the Earth is on a big boat that is floating in a bigger ocean. Walt Brown will not be please to hear this.

A statement that isn't true at all, of course. We have observed earthquakes and magnetic fields and gravity. Earthquakes are incredibly revealing about what the layers of the Earth are really like.

Have you ever seen an ultra sound image of baby in the womb? That is a picture created by sound waves. Sound waves allow us to see inside the human body with pretty good resolution. Earthquakes are like that. They create waves in the Earth. We see the waves on the surface but it also creates waves deep in the Earth. Seismic stations around the world pick up those waves at different times. The difference in times is determined by what the waves travel trough, exactly the same as an ultrasound. Earthquakes are a planet sized ultra sound. We may not have seen each layer, but we know what those layers must be based on how the waves travel through them.

No, that's wrong. We know what the interior of the Earth is like because of earthquakes. The waves move and are reflected and refracted as they move through different parts of it. Because the waves bounce around the entire Earth, seismic stations can put together a sort of MRI image of the interior. Some seismic waves can travel through liquids and others cannot, so we can tell, for example, that the inner core is solid, while the outer core is liquid.

We know the composition of the layers, since different materials refract seismic waves at different rates.

We know the upper mantle is plastic and very hot, because of plate movements and because at divergent boundaries, the lithosphere pulls apart, exposing the mantle, which rises up to make new crust.

A video demonstration might help:

We know that gravity affects the motion of all objects equally - so why are oceans the only bodies of water with tides? Join Gabe on this week’s episode of PBS Space Time as he sets the record straight on tidal force, gravitational differential and what role the moon actually plays in tides. Why don't lakes have tides? Watch the episode to find out:

Cool video. I learned something.
