What did he say on the cross?
Father into your hands I commend my spirit.

1.What spirit was he talking about?

1a. His Own - There is a spirit in man.

2.How many different spirits are there?

2a. lots

One is the breath of life.

What are demons?

SO ARE YOU SAYING THAT JESUS HAD A DEMON ???????!!!!! :nono::nono:

How man words are translated as spirit in the Greek?

I don't know , its all Greek to me.

Jesus was talking about his breath of life which was given to man by the Lord when He formed man from the dust of the earth according to Gen. 2:7. Then, if you read Eccles. 12:7 when man dies, the body goes down to the dust and his breath of life returns to God Who gave it to man. Spirit in this case is only an embellishment, considering the Divine origin of the breath of life.

Demons are only concepts to illustrate the evil inclination in man.

You may be right, but about demons Ben a legion on them went into the swine. Do you believe in evil spirits?

The point I am thinking about is how many Hebrew words were translated as spirit or spirits?

Notes from HMS Richards:

The word spirit in the OT occurs 234 times and is always translated from the Hebrew word "Ruahh" except in Job 25:4 and Prov 20:27. "Ruahh" occurs 442 times and is translated 16 different ways. It is rended SPIRIT 232 times, WIND 97 times, BREATH 28 times, SMELL 8 times, MIND 6 times, BLAST 4 time, ect.

Another word translated "Spirit" in the OT
"N'shahmah" occurs 24 times, Translated as BREATH 17 times, BLAST 3 times, SPIRIT twice, SOUL once and INSPIRATION once.

The word "Spirit" in the NT is translated from the Greek word "Pneuma" which occurs 385 times. "Pneuma" is translated as SPIRIT 291 times, GHOST 92 times, WIND once and life once.
