God's Truth

It was in the context of the second death.

However, Jesus became sin for us and experienced the second death for those who accept him as the symbolic Lamb of God.

It must have seemed as if God had forsaken Jesus. That is what the people think when one suffers and dies.

Jesus was fulfilling the Old Testament scripture where it was said.

Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

The penalty for sin is the second death, which is what Jesus paid for us if we accept it.

God the Father did not forsake him. Jesus' Spirit is the Spirit of God. Jesus in the Spirit, after dying on the cross went to prison/hell and preached the gospel there, then rose himself from the dead.

One even means 'the same'.

There is no one like me.

There is no other...

Yes God says this. However God is plural

Genesis 1:26 King James Version (KJV)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

I prove my beliefs with scripture.

God says plainly that there is no other, no one like Him, no one besides Him.

Jesus has all the names God has.

Yet you say they are different and separate.

There are too many scriptures to disprove your beliefs. Jesus and the Father are shown to be separate entities. There is no way to prove your beliefs.

Too bad you do not believe the truth.

1 Peter 4:6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

Read this passage:

Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Did you read how Jesus says on this rock I will build my church.

The church is Jesus' body.

Those saved become a part of Jesus' body.

Jesus is saying that he would build his body with true worshipers, those who worship in spirit and in truth. Peter had truth revealed to him by the Spirit.

See how Jesus says the gates of Hades will not overcome it?

Did you see how Jesus says the gates of Hades will not overcome it?

Think about that for awhile.

I will show you how this is not a church building.

The gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Jesus went to Hades after he died on the cross, he went there to preach the gospel to the spirits there.

The gates of Hades could not keep Jesus there.

Jesus was raised from the dead.

The church Jesus was speaking about was his body.

Jesus was raised from the dead.

That's what Paul said, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." (Romans 8:11)

You're so smart, why don't you tell me. You lose.

Hebrews 13:8 King James Version (KJV)

8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
