A lot of these discussions about salvation and eternal security are quite elementary I think.

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

And so Paul is simply saying that righteousness does not depend on performance.
If it did, our faith would fluctuate because the righteousness of God is by faith.
Dearest Watson lol ...
It seems that you do not understand this particular verse.
Paul is saying ...
Sin no longer has the power over us that it used to have.
Due to (1) our new nature, and (2) the indwelling Holy Spirit.
These 2 babies are a huge part of God's grace in the new covenant.
And this is quite elementary, Watson.

We who are lied about, know who put you up to it.
If she was Pentecostal, she would understand that ...
none of Satan's demons can possess a true believer's spirit.
(Even the venerable KJV messes up this "possession" thing.)

But, they can inhabit anyone's body.
Ditto for inhabiting any part of anyone's soul (mind, will, emotions).
A demon may (and can) be a stronghold in anyone's mind.
A demon may (and can) be a stronghold re: anyone's will.
A demon may (and can) be a stronghold re: anyone's emotions.

Usually, it is necessary to have these nasty guys cast out by an
experienced deliverance worker, but any believer with a lot of faith can do it.

Desperation on the part of the afflicted is very important.
Also, as with God being willing to heal,
the afflicted person needs to REPENT of:
-- ANY involvement with the occult (past or present)
-- ANY unforgiveness

Here's hoping that everyone reading this casting of pearls is not a swine.

Satan can and does ensnare some believers.

2 Timothy 2:26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

That is why I call you holy con artists

You say we must overcome, but you have not overcome. You say we must quit sinning, but you have not quit sinning.

You say we must obey, but you do not obey.

You are those who touch the nose and say "do as we say but don't do as we do"

Just listen to all these accusations.

IMO, Satan is trying to influence absolutely everyone ...
in some way, in some degree, etc.

Smith Wigglesworth, probably the greatest healing evangelist ever,
believed that all sicknesses, diseases, maladies, etc. were caused by Satan.
Overboard? Probably.
Maybe he meant because of The Fall.
Didn't have a chance to ask him.

Satan does flee from us.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 4:27
and do not give the devil a foothold.

Ephesians 6:11
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:9
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

I think that might be overboard, for wine easing stomach ailments shows us that what we eat and drink can affect us.

In addition, exercise being of some use to our bodies.

Not only that, Jesus was asked whose sin caused the man's blindness. Jesus said neither.

John 9:2 1 As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth. 2And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.…

1 Timothy 5:23 Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

1 Timothy 4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

The indwelling Holy Spirit is the new nature. But we still have a carnal nature because we still occupy flesh bodies.
Whether we walk in the Spirit or in the flesh, depends on how strong we are in faith.

These 2 babies are a huge part of God's grace in the new covenant.
And this is quite elementary, Watson.

Yes they are huge parts, but without faith you can be persuaded by carnal natural circumstances.

The word "possession" is not an accurate translation from Greek. There is no equivalent English word used to translate what is meant.
A more accurate way to describe it, is "under the influence of spirits".

Demons cannot possess human spirits, they can only influence the mind, will, and emotions by varying degrees.

But, they can inhabit anyone's body.
Ditto for inhabiting any part of anyone's soul (mind, will, emotions).
A demon may (and can) be a stronghold in anyone's mind.

Correct.

There is no such thing as 'a lot faith'. One time when the disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast out a demon, Jesus responded "because of your unbelief". He then went on to explain how they move mountains if the had faith of a mustard seed (tiny faith). As long as faith is pure, it can accomplish anything.

Desperation on the part of the afflicted is very important.

Obviously people must desire to be free of a demonic stronghold, and yes repentance removes the legal right for a demon to afflict.

Our mind and emotions are our spirit.

Our mind and emotions are our spirit.

No that is our soul / personality.
Our spirit is the God conscious part of our being. It is eternal and acts simply as a conscience in those who are unsaved, but is indwelt with the Holy Spirit to become one with God when someone is born again.

No. Our soul is our body made alive by our spirit.
No such thing as a soul and another thing called a spirit.

Obeying Jesus' words gives life to our spirit. It makes us more aware of our spirit.

Our mind, our feelings, our conscious, that is our spirit. If anyone gets a modern English version Bible, you can easily see that whenever the bible talks about our soul, it is at that time concerned with our living body (our physical living body with its spirit).
Whenever the bible talks about our spirit, it is concentrating on our spirit, our spirit whether in our body or out of our body.
Whenever the bible talks about our body, it is speaking of a living physical body or a dead physical body.
A soul is a physical body alive with a spirit. The body is dead without the spirit (James 2:26), and the spirit lives on after death of the body.

Refer to 1 Thessalonians. We can see that God will sanctify us through and through, our whole spirit (spirit without a body), soul (spirit and body together), and our body (with or without our spirit/dead or alive). God truly sanctifies us through and through.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nope.

The soul and spirit in Hebrew and Greek can be interpreted in various ways depending on context. They can even be used interchangeably. In the old testament, people did not understand the concept of a person having an eternal spirit that survived physical death. They believed in a future resurrection.
The new testament revealed the eternal spiritual side of man.

The verse I quoted show that man is made up of a spirit, soul, and body.

They did.

Did you read how Solomon says, “Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
They believed in a future resurrection.
That is right; and, that does not prove our spirits do not live after the death of our bodies.

The new testament revealed the eternal spiritual side of man.

The verse I quoted show that man is made up of a spirit, soul, and body.

No, you did not prove anything, except that you do not understand.

Our body is DEAD without our spirit. Think about it.
