I see that you're basing morality on what is currently legal. How about during the vast majority of US history when homosexuality was a felony in every US State, what moral high ground did buggerites have then?

How about when blacks were 'second class', women were expected to be tied to the sink and deprived the vote, an effective voice and children were forced into labour and deprived the same? If you want to use history as a benchmark then it just backfires on you which you really should have learnt by now.

Society progresses. Now black people can go to a cinema and sit at the front of a bus. A woman can vote, have a career and not be forced to endure abuse behind closed doors without recourse to effective legal proceedings. Child labour laws were introduced along with charities to represent those being abused along with stringent crackdowns on child porn etc. It stood to reason that draconian and puritan laws would crumble in regards to the oppression of homosexuals/human rights etc and a good thing too.

Oh, and this, again, has nothing to do with homosexuals occupying any sort of 'higher moral ground'.

Or the question could also be asked: What happened in your life for you to be so utterly fixated on it? If most people don't agree with your ideas for re-criminalizing it then does that make them potential closet cases? Despite it being the vast majority opinion of the Western world?
