I don't remember any specific time I looked up at the sky, but I'm pretty sure I've seen contrails before.
You know why they're called "contrails"?
It's a portmanteau of "condensation trails."
It's literally describing what is happening.
When you blow heated air out the back of a jet engine at high altitudes, the warm air condenses to form water droplets. This is a process that happens constantly while the aircraft is flying, but it's mostly only noticable at high altitudes while the aircraft is moving quickly.
You can also see it happening at the wingtips while the plane is landing or taking off, or when a fighter jet breaches the sound barrier. The cloud you see surrounding an aircraft that is pushing past the speed of sound is the same phenomena, the air is being condensed to the point where the light is being refracted off of the water vapor, distorting the light.
It has nothing to do with chemicals. It's a purely physical reaction.
What, specifically, from those links makes you think that the government is even remotely capable of controlling the weather?
So you think contrails last for hours? Chemtrails last for many hours and spread out across the sky.

They are contrails. Condensation trails. And yes, if conditions are right, they can last for many hours and spread across the sky.

I'm someone that recognizes that a number of conspiracy theories have been shown to be correct. So I never dismiss a conspiracy theory because it is a conspiracy theory. However the chemtrail phenomena is not chemicals. It is condensation of water. I was in the Air Force and had an opportunity to speak with a lot of pilots. It is true that when they do their exercises they change altitude and speed a lot. One astute pilot remarked that at certain altitudes the conditions are right for the contrails to persist and during the same flight the contrails will be fleeting or they disappear. If someone is loading chemicals onto his plane they are not turning them on and off at certain altitudes and temperatures.
Let me add that he would love greatly to turn off the "chemtrails" so that he cannot be so easily identified. It is true of the side playing the enemy as well as he uses contrails to identify them when they would prefer not to be seen.

You're referring to fighter jets not to large transports. And condensation does not remain in the air and then spread out over a matter of hours.

As I said above, it happens with commercial airliners as well, not just coming out of the engines.

It's not just heat that does it, Gary.
Condensation is when vapor molecules get closer to each other.
That can be achieved either by hot air meeting cold (for example, on the side of your chilled drink, where the warm ambient air meets the cold surface of your beverage, and condenses) or by rapid compression of a vapor (such as a fast moving object hitting the molecules, causing them to collide with the others quicker than they can dissipate, most noticable with jets that can break the speed of sound) particularly at higher altitudes where temperatures are colder and pressures are lower.
