I don't understand this. "Rep" is meant to be either an affirmation of a post or a denial of validity to a post.
It is the post that one is meant to address.
Personally, I always address posts out in the open.

Well it seems that it's the same people doing all of the neg repping to everyone! We can narrow this down to a precious few. There really aren't a lot of people doing this from what I've seen. Just the ones everyone is mentioning.
