Jonah 3:10
Right, who changed?
10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
God did not do that which He said He was going to do.
God said He was going to do something. As a result of their repentance, God did not do that which He said He was going to do. Just as He said He would in Jeremiah 18.
God reacted to mankind by not doing something which He said He was going to do.
Did God lie when He said that He was going to destroy Nineveh if He knew He was never going to destroy them?
Because they turned He changed His mind and did not destroy them.Right, who changed?

Thank you.God did not do that which He said He was going to do.

Clearly you're incapable of understanding, since God never gave them an option; He never said, "If you don't change I will destroy you." He said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”And why do you think God sent Jonah?
to warn them IF they didn't CHANGE THEIR WAYS. He was going to judge them. Are you people incapeable of understanding?
And why do you think God sent Jonah?

Really? God sent Jonah to tell Nineveh that He was going to judge them if they didn't change their ways?
Or...did God tell Jonah to go to Nineveh and tell them in 40 days they were going to be overthrown?
Which is it?
Really? My, my...you have never read the book of Jonah. Nineveh had 40 days to repent and THEN God was going to judge them IF they didn't change their ways.
Jonah 3
3 Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: 2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”
3 Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it. 4 Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” 5 The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.
10 When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.
Is the difficulty that the only true God, who threatened, also does not change in regard to His character?
He changed what He was going to do because the people changed. But God's character did not change.I would say that applies. God did not change His mind. He fulfilled His promise.
He changed what He was going to do because the people changed. But God's character did not change.
You say He did not change His mind. I'm assumming the idea is that God's mind changes or that God changes His mind.
What terms? Where did He put forth terms?God put forth the terms. The people changed.
God's terms express His love, justice, and mercy. When a person repents, they turn from their own ways to God's, and they receive the blessing of being counted among the people of God.God put forth the terms. The people changed.

What specifically do you see as the terms in the passage you are examining?
