Adult material should remain in the domain of adults.

I was pointing out idolater's foolishness in asserting that women are deliberately setting out to try to inflame his primal lusts. All he has to do is ignore such temptations. Maybe he needs to stop watching the Kardashian channel on tv. Perhaps he's weak and needs to pray for strength in the face of such evil temptations.

And if Kim Kardashian is dressing to provoke male reproductive arousal everywhere she goes in public, is that "adult material"?

All he has to do is ignore such temptations.

That's all I have to do, that's my duty; what about the nine year old who sees Kim Kardashian presenting herself as a walking thirst trap in public? What ... what's HIS duty? the nine year old? What is that boy's responsibility when a temptress is in public provoking his nine year old reproductive arousal?

Maybe he needs to stop watching the Kardashian channel on tv. Perhaps he's weak and needs to pray for strength in the face of such evil temptations.

Are you going to say this to the nine year old boy?

So I did a Google search on Kim Kardashian and when I was a 9-year-old boy I would have been absolutely disgusted with her appearance.
As I am now.
She's gross.

Well, that was a while ago but maybe when I was 11 or 12 a pretty woman, with nice hair, eyes, and symmetrical teeth could set my imagination going. Maybe a mandatory veil would have freed me of impure thoughts... If a burqua is a bridge too far, maybe a simple compulsory hijab would satisfy your patriarchal instincts.

Define porn.

explicit pictures, videos, or written material—including books, films, and online content—created to cause sexual arousal

Though, I should have been broader in what I said:

Trafficking in human sexuality, as a whole, should be banned.

It's a big category. Would you ban any nudity in movies, for example.

Yes.

Would the first amendment need to be annuled?

The fact that it is considered protected material under the first amendment should tell you just how flawed our constitution is.

You don't fix such an inherently flawed document. You replace it with something better.

I have no problem with tasteful sensuality but there's definitely too much out there that's distasteful and sordid. But it appeals to some I guess. In any case, the horse is already out of the barn.

That doesn't sound easy.

Define "tasteful sensuality."

Sex is to be reserved for the marriage bed.

Being sexually appealing to one's husband is the responsibility of a wife, not an unmarried woman to a stranger.

You sound like you've given up.

That doesn't sound easy.

Of course. So what?

That would include anything that I don't find offensive. Other people would have different standards.

Ideally yes. I've been monogamous for 46 years (and counting). Not because of religious belief but because I made a commitment to my wife. I meant what I promised. From a practical point of view, it simplifies life. I don't need more drama than life already provides. OTOH some people thrive on drama and chaos.

Not given up, never tried. I don't consider it my business to impose my morality on others. They're responsible for themselves.
Of course. So what?
Isn't going to happen anytime soon... Or do you have a cunning plan?

That's just your subjective opinion. Not a definition.

Other people would have different standards.

So whose standard is the best?

Ideally yes.

Not just ideally. God said to "be fruitful and multiply." He created man and woman to have sex, yes, but within a committed relationship. It was never supposed to be this casual thing for random people to engage in.

I've been monogamous for 46 years (and counting). Not because of religious belief but because I made a commitment to my wife. I meant what I promised.

Good for you.

Life would be far simpler if people were held to a higher standard.

Not given up, never tried. I don't consider it my business to impose my morality on others. They're responsible for themselves.

But you do.

You don't want your wife to cheat on you, I presume. And she doesn't want you looking at other women, at peast not the same way as you look at her.

Or would you think it's okay for another man to rape her? She also probably wouldn't want other women trying to seduce you.

Would that not be an imposition of morals upon others?

Isn't going to happen anytime soon... Or do you have a cunning plan?

To start with...

Start a family, have lots of kids, and teach them that there is a God and that society breaks down when people disobey His laws.

If he's weak, (aren't we all in some way?) then other Christians have a responsibility to not throw temptations in his face, right? We don't take a dry alcoholic to a bar, etc.
