I post this question because it seems like NO ONE in the rightwing sections of the Internet (or even my own newsfeed), to say nothing of the mainstream media, is talking about Senator Sanders.

Even as he continues to draw the largest crowds nationwide, even in traditional rightwing hotbeds like Arizona and Texas.

In case you haven't heard of him (like, say, because you only watch Faux News or even CNN or MSNBC), here's a breakdown of his platform:

I'm just honestly curious because I've seen ZERO discussion of the senator or his platform or anything related to him.

Its all basically going to drive the mom and pop and small business out of business who are the largest employers in the country.

He is pro-union, but doesn't address the negative affects that unions are having on our law enforcement and public right now.

He suggests no real solution to the wealth gap except pointing it out.

There's never be a president elected at age 75. The average age of Presidents entering office is just 54 years, 11 months old. Thirty-four of the forty-four presidents entered office before age 60. I wonder who Sanders would select as his running mate?

Sure, but there'd never been a black President before 2009. There'd never been a Catholic before Kennedy. Presidents are exception enough just because there are so few of them that it's hard to really draw conclusions about what traits are really essential.

But being black or being Catholic doesn't hinder one's ability to be president. Being really old can potentially hinder a person being president. Also, JFK is the youngest president ever elected.

I think there are good reasons that we've never had a 75 year old elected president before. The job is extremely stressful and perhaps there's a natural weeding out of older candidates because of this? I'm just speculating here.

I don't begrudge him for him admitting he is. At least he's honest about it.

An aside from the topic, but sure being Catholic, or any religion, depending on what they believe and to what extent, can hinder someone's ability to be president. It won't necessarily, but sure it can, and it should be taken into account. I definitely take religious belief into account when I consider someone running for office. I think most people do.

Some of these presidential candidates who believe the earth is 6000 years old? Come on. Of course that sort of denial regarding science and reality can hinder their ability to be president. And that's just a simple example that's an actual issue with candidates. Governor Perry declaring official Texas "pray for rain" days? Seriously? I consider that sort of crazy religiosity ought to be kept a good distance from political office. And those things don't even get close to issue like say... Religious war.

Back to the topic, yes, I agree that Sanders is old to be running for president, at least to the point that it needs to be taken into real consideration, as it was with McCain, who was younger when he was running than Sanders will be. If Sanders was a two-term president, he'd be over 80 while he was in office. And that doesn't even take into account that 8 years in president years is probably about 25 years in normal people years. lain:

I like Sanders. I don't really think he can win, but I've been surprised at his progress, and I'm not ruling anything out for a while. There's a long way to go. I don't think we'll be seeing much from the Democrats for a while still, I think everyone is stepping back while the GOP implodes under the weight of the Trump show and the spinning head constituents like republicanchick.

I think the Democrats have their tactics arranged all wrong on Sanders. I think he stands a much better chance in the general election than Clinton. The Democrats' impulse is to play it safe, treat Clinton like a fragile egg who can't be challenged on her road to the nomination, and keep their powder dry for the general, but there's really nothing more dangerous to their own chances that they could do.

But perhaps some of the Democrats don't like him because he isn't really a party member.
