Indeed scripture tells us all to be gentle, merciful, and kind in admonishment, guidance, rebuke, or chastisement.
We should all attempt to keep humility and mercy as motives, along with the good news and weightier things of Faith.
If we cannot, or rather, choose not to do these things then our faith is not genuine and the resulting effects there of will be noticably contrary to what we know of GOD as it pertains to the direction of man.

yes, we should be able to know who is sincere or not.
If we cannot, our faith is meaningless.
We can have discerning skill by knowing what Jesus teaches.
