Read it last year. It had some good parts, for sure, including the idea that people should work for what they want, stand up for their principles (good ones), do well on anything they attempt. What I didn't like is the way it associated marriage with the other side. At least, marriages that weren't the ideal, she seems to suggest, should be dissolved, and it's OK to try out your presumed marriage partner until you find the more perfect one.The third book on my 100 books list is Atlas Shrugged, which I am in the process of reading through again right now.
Thomas Sowell, like Rand, is an example of someone who ends up promoting a worldview that is consistent with the Bible and Christianity but without being a Christian. All that is required to make this happen is for a person to acknowledge the reality around them and then be rationally consistent with that reality.
P.S. It is not impossible that Sowell is a believer but he seems to have made an effort to not let anyone know whether he is or is not and my default is to give a man the benefit of the doubt and assume that he is not a believer until such time as I have good evidence to the contrary.
