One essential to a conservative, is that we don't countenance doing radical things or holding radical policies based on a newfangled ideology.
We don't believe men can think their way out of a paper bag, let alone usher in some new enlightened age.
This is something the communists in China don't have any guardrail against.

For a conservative, radical things can only be done to preserve and protect conservative things, like our Constitution.

Europe is politically unstable; that's why they can't understand the U.S. You have basically the Confederacy of 1861-1865 in Europe, writ large, there are as many confederacies in Europe as states in the Southern Confederacy of 1861-1865, that regime collapsed under the pressure of the Civil War and the European Union would collapse similarly if tested. That's why Europe doesn't understand the U.S. We are strong, because we are Constitutionally united, and Europe is weak.
