Pete's a good guy, but if your reading had been correct at the start all chrys had to say was, "I was talking about the old one. I hadn't seen his new one. My mistake."

He didn't.

When people began making a point of it at any time it would have been easy and within the sphere of his self interest to clarify.

He didn't. At no point did he remotely advance that.

So either Pete is wrong about chrys' intentions or chrys decided to allow people the wrong impression about him and invited what follows.

I think you're peddling revisionist history.

I was expecting Del or maybe even Knight to fly in from no where and ask if I was seriously making a correlation between The Lord and Chrys.

And I was hoping to get Anna excited by bringing up the martyrs.


But you - Woman, you already were mad at Chrys - anything might make you aggravated.

If it weren't for my wishing for you to not accidentally get included I might have made a correlation of Zoo, TH, and AB to the Inquisitors of the Inquisition.

But do not be angry please. Let the humor of it all show through.

That is just it ...

The reaction of Chrys is what prompted the belief that his words were malicious. He WAS asked, by Pete as well as several others. Also, quite a few people notified him via negative rep that his remark was not appreciated.

His silence and retreat suggests his remark was anything but innocent.

Sorry Rainee ... it was just such an odd comparison regardless of who you were comparing to Jesus. I am not angry, btw. I believe you are well intentioned, though misguided.

But it is in keeping with his behavior here. I have never seen him issue an apology or even a hint that he may have misinterpreted or been misinformed. He appears to be one of those men who cannot be wrong.
I believe that is why he has adopted the stance of interlocutor. By only asking questions he manipulates people into showing their hand whilst he sits in his tree fort and takes pot shots at will.

Exactly, Bybee. I judge Chrys by his reaction, as well as his prior behavior on this forum.

As I said and Rusha noted, what Pete thinks these days isn't the issue, though I'm glad he isn't troubled by any of it.

Again (and I'm sure Sod will try to side step and bury the point, as he continues to do) when someone accused of something they didn't do or intend can with a simple declaration set the matter right and they don't, the reasonable, rational conclusion is that the best case reading isn't correct.

Either that or they find value in allowing people to think the worst of them. Neither of those alternatives speak well of chrys and what followed was entirely his responsibility.
