And Trump has made it very clear that he doesn’t stand for the freedom of the press. As a presidential candidate, he told supporters he would “open up our libel laws” to sue journalists. “We’re going to have people sue you like you’ve never got sued before,” he promised.
Trump the candidate also blacklisted reporters and entire news outlets from campaign events, referred to journalists as “scum” and “slime,” and mocked a reporter for having a disability. He vowed to sue women who reported incidents of sexual harassment and assault, along with the outlets that covered their accounts, and threatened a lawsuit against a Hispanic journalist group for calling out his bigoted remarks.
"I would never kill them but I do hate them,” he said of reporters. “And some of them are such lying, disgusting people.”

You're backing a man who peddles hatred and hates and fears the First Amendment.
That is why Biden refuses to answer whether or not he will pack the Supreme Court. Of course he is planning on packing it.
Packing it would be refusing to even hold a hearing when a democrat president nominates a judge (because it's only a year from the election), but rushing to confirm a republican president's nominee just before an election. And that's the rub. You see, Jerry, once there were things that were legal, but so blatantly unfair that neither republicans nor democrats would do them. Now the republicans have removed that barrier, and it was fine with you. And now you're panicking, because you think the democrats might do the same thing the republicans have done.
And maybe they will. But you have only yourself to blame. And there will not be anything you can do, but pray to God that the democrats will be better Americans than the republicans. Remember that.
The Socialists will do to America what was done to Venezuela because they want unlimited power to rule over your life in whatever way they choose.
That was Trump's argument. He assumed all sorts of powers not found in law. And the republicans let him get away with it. Now that it seems the democrats might take power, and use those same things, you're beside yourself. Again, you have no one to blame but yourself if it happens. Pray that the democrats are better Americans than the republicans have been. That's the only thing you can do.
