As a kid, I used to repeatedly read through all the Far Side books I had copies of -- which, I think, was just about all of them. But I suppose I must have not had every last book, since I don't remember having ever seen this panel before. This is one of those nice, deluxe ones where he added some nice (if not entirely realistic) shading and texture to his characteristically simple (but effective) line drawings.
I was sad, years ago, to learn that my old "hero", Gary Larson, is a Darwinist.
