Ok, that makes sense. I'm not too big on the canopy, mainly because the water is above the firmament, which I would associate with space, rather than the sky.
Depends on how much expansion of the steam has occurred before it hits your skin, and how much pressure it was under prior to the rupture. I'm not a proponent for all aspects of the HPT, but it's an intriguing theory with some good points. Firmament equaling earth equaling heaven not equaling...
I would suggest it's more likely the waters above are higher than the "sky", more fitting with above "space" in our modern terminology. The plural of "heaven" used in Gen 1 seems to indicate something at least to the 2nd heaven (to make use of the plural), compared to Paul's reference to the 3rd...
The one thing I would suggest changing is that the expanse/firmament was called "Heavens". The singular usage in that one place is a translation mistake, in my opinion, since the plural is what is used throughout Gen 1 in the Hebrew.
Temperature drops rapidly when pressure is reduced rapidly. P=VxT (pressure = volume x temperature) is the main equation of thermodynamics. If the pressure, P, drops, and volume of water stays the same, the temperature has to drop proportionately.
You keep repeating something as if that makes it true. What if 95% of the world disagreed with you? Would that make you wrong? I'm sure you would say "no." What if 95% of the world agreed with you? Would that make you right?
Do you believe in a standard of right and wrong that is more...
A violation of what? If we're merely going off of meh opinions, why is rape worse than withholding sex from your husband, or sodomy, or criminalizing sodomy, or criminalizing rape (refer back to @Idolater's duck-rape posts).
But that's what their moral compass is telling them to do, so meh back at yours. And God seems to agree more with them than you. So how good is your moral compass? It's no better than your opinion. Meh, indeed.
We started homeschooling our kids in the 1990s. There were plenty of times we questioned how to do it better, or whether we were up to the task, but seeing the results in our kids (including one still in process), I can't imagine missing the wonderful opportunities we had to see and be directly...
The "again" suggests that it happened once (or more) previously, and then wouldn't EVER happen again. If the event in question is the mountains being covered by water and it happened multiple times prior to creation being completed, and the verse is saying it wouldn't happen again (ever) after...
