Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

I do. It is written..."Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called." (Rom 9:7) Have you been reborn of the seed of God? (1 John 3:9)

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

Actually, we are all of Isaac's seed...not Abraham's.

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Cannot both statements be true in differing contexts? In one context Abraham was saved by the actions of his belief. In another context, he was saved without the works of the Law. That is the only "works" Paul ever wrote against.

    Is believing/faith a work ?

That is correct, but the unrighteous will not be saved at all. So don't you think being righteous is a better way of life while we await the return of our Savior? The unrighteous manifest their unbelief with their refusal to submit to the God who loves them.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

By ignoring exhortations and admonissions to the believing Jews, you harm yourself greatly. As some here have stated, there is no longer "Greek or Jew, etc", and all are one in Christ. Why segregate any one group saved by the grace of God from another part of the same group?

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I know you didn't write that James was a spy, as it was written by Mark M in post #64. You cut in with your comments: comments nor meant for you.

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Thanks be to God for giving us that, and other tasks to perform, in order to be saved. Without them, God's salvation would just be on a whim. Obey, and live forever.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I didn't say you said "James is a spy", so quit the falsity. I asked a question because you answered my question to Mark M.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I'll remember that when I read the letters to the Galatians, Ephesians, Collosians, etc. And I won't ever consider those, or any letters, not to be for me too. I will also do all I can to heed the exhortations and admonishments of all the other letters to other foreigners. I am a "foreigner"...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Do you really think James, a "pillar", was a false brother or spy? I don't. And I don't think the visitors were spies either.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Where did Paul say James was spying? I agree it doesn't matter who wrote Hebrews, but I feel we all can learn things from it whether we are Jewish or Gentile believers. Chapters 4, 6, and 10 are especially pertinent to all the lovers of Christ Jesus.

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

Good citing. As I consider the OP's question some more, I have decided that the "church" is better than Israel ever was. The nation of Israel walked after the flesh, but the "church" can walk after the Spirit...something the Israelites could not do.

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

You are referring to the nation of Israel. And in the OT. In the NT, Israeli and Gentile believers are all one in Christ. Now, their, and our separation is from the world. From sin and all wickedness. Thanks be to God !

    He descended from Adam.

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

It means all men are Gentiles. Just as there are Irish Gentiles and English Gentiles, Hutu Gentiles and Tutsi Gentiles, Ukrainian Gentiles and Russian Gentiles, Israeli Gentiles and Syrian Gentiles, all men sprang from the same seed. The only thing the church is not part of, is this world. We...

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

But there is only one gospel of Jesus Christ. Agreed. Gal 3:28..."There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Agreed, we are all one now. Huh? I'm sure glad I had the scripture to make it clear we are...

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

Are you "in Christ"? What tribe was He of? As Christians, whether Israelite of Gentile, are no longer under the Mosaic Law, tribalism is a moot point anyway.

Has the Church Replaced Israel ?

So, there are two gospels. I can't agree. You are again failing to distinguish between the Israelites in Christ and the land of Israel. The unbelievers are not in Christ, and believing Gentiles have no part with them. But we are one with the believing Israelites.
