    Is believing/faith a work ?

You hold the notion that Hebrews are not in the body of Christ, so where is the lie? They were the first folks to be baptized into Christ Jesus. (Acts 2:41)

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Not really. I have amended that post.

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Amen to that ! And I am hoping I will find my name in the book of life at the last day's judgement.

    Is believing/faith a work ?

I doubt it. Again with the nobody but Gentiles are in Christ fable? I don't believe that for a nanosecond. God wants all to be saved, and He supplied one way for both Jew and Gentile to walk in order to obtain that salvation. Thanks be to God !

    Is believing/faith a work ?

"You shall be saved." NOT "You are saved." Yes, I am reading other people's mail. Just today I read from the Romans' and Galatians' mail.

How do you "put to death....your earthly nature" (Colossians 3:5)

You don't understand it? Don't give life to something that is dead. The sinless part occurs when one is washed of past sin by the blood of Christ. (1 John 1:7) We can maintain that obedient position by keeping the fleshly mind, with the vile affections and lusts, dead. (Gal 5:24) As there can...

How do you "put to death....your earthly nature" (Colossians 3:5)

How can you "deaden" something that is dead already? It is written..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24)

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Where in those verses does it say one "IS" saved for doing that action? Fact is, the calling on the name of the Lord is done at water baptism "in the name of Jesus Christ" for the remission of sins. And still, we must endure faithfully until the death of the vessel "to be saved" on the day of...

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Moot point, as the final judgement won't happen till the last day. Then I will be able to say "I am saved." Till then, by the grace of God, I will faithfully endure. We have to go through the "door", as He won't do it for us. God won't force a man to repent of sin or tell only the truth.

How do you "put to death....your earthly nature" (Colossians 3:5)

In the KJV of the bible it is written..."Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:" (Col 3:5) Mortify means "keep dead". These things were all crucified with Christ, (Gal...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Hmmm... John's reason was as true today as it was yesterday. It hasn't changed but in one way. Now it is done in the name of Jesus Christ...thanks be to God. Using misinterpreted scripture. I could come to the same conclusion. But my teachers didn't misinterpret any scriptures.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Good, now you are opening your mind. There are men who are Israelites in Christ. It just doesn't give anyone any greater esteem in the eyes of God. Shouldn't your answer have been "no"? Or have you changed your mind from your previous position that there are no men in Christ? Nah, just a male...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Good point. If there can be no males, females, Greeks, Jews, slaves, or freemen in Christ, why would there be any Trinitarians?

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

You quoted the truth. He did say those words...but I fail to see how John the Baptist's words say the waters of John's baptism did NOT remit sins. In fact, your kindly provided scripture again point out the truth that baptism, now in the name of Jesus Christ but still for the remission of sins...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

The word of God is always truth, but not everyone who interprets it is intent on truth. What did I write that was dishonest? "Buried with Him in baptism" seems pretty straightforward to me. Nah, I am a male, free, Arizonan...in Christ.
  17. H

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

By that logic, Jesus is not in the body of Himself. So you are no longer a male? You use Paul's point, "that in Christ being free or male or Greek will avail you nothing", to make a point not of God, that there are no men or Jews or Greeks or slaves in Christ. Nah, but grace does reigns...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

According to you. I guess if one didn't believe the scriptures one could see Cor 2:11-13 that way. I though believe it as it is written.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

The true Israel is in Christ. Jew and Gentile, both in Christ...and in His body. The only folks for sure not in Christ are sinners. There is no sin in Christ.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Col 2:11-13..."In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised...
