Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

He did know that water would remit sins, as that is the mission God sent him on. (Mark 1:4-5)

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I wonder if John the Baptist ever heard those same words?

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I rejoice in the fact that the Spirit immersed me into the church of God. I am also glad that I was water baptized into Christ and into His death and burial. And I am grateful that water baptism also provided the means of the death of my old man so I could be raised with Christ to walk in...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Agreed, one baptism is mentioned, though he didn't say which one. Thank you for the exhortation.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

One done by men and one granted by God. They are both mentioned in Acts 10 and 19.

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

Sorry for causing you to waste so much time on the irrelevant.

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

I am glad He included the Israeli, and the Irish, in the body of His Son. Isn't that comment against the rules? God's nation awaits the return of our King. Does He divide Jewish believers from Ethiopian believers? Agreed, and so is everyone "in Him". Agreed, but it is no reason not to...

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

Paul was a Jew. In the body of Christ though, for the purpose of salvation, gender, nationalities, and races, don't matter. It is written..."But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people."...

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

No thanks. Your group seems too anti-Semitic for me. Too divisive. I will continue to walk in God, who is the light, and in His Son who was born of a Jewish mother.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

So much for your interpretation of "one baptism".

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

The church is one, and in Christ. I can't espouse two churches or two bodies of Christ.

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

There are already lots of Jews in the body of Christ.

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

One baptism is by the Spirit, and of God, another is done by men, and is also of God. He is as a Jew, and I want to be just like Him so I will be as He is when He returns. As I believe in the God that made heaven and earth, and separated a people unto Himself, it would be my honor to be...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

So much for your interpretation of "one baptism". I do know, but you are illustrating that you don't. ? I would, but you disallow the means of my entry into Christ. And I won't dare usurp the judgement of God by declaring myself anything more than a convert. Why do you use it to try and...

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

The term "in Christ" refers to our "immersion" into Him.

What does it mean to "be in Christ"?

I agree, one baptism delivered by God, to those who turn from sin and are water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins. It is called the gift of the Holy Ghost. Peter spoke of it in Acts 2:38. You are denying the facts.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Indeed. Why would they mention water when there was no other kind of baptism being mentioned? How does the baptism of the Holy Spirt accomplish the burial, or planting, of Rom 6:4-5..."Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Good, I am glad you can see that "Jewish" doesn't mean "not in the body of Christ". It doesn't need to be. So the Jewish Jesus, in whom we are "in", is not Jewish anymore...but will return as a Jewish man. That is some convoluted thinking. It is written..."Who hath delivered us from the power...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Jesus now has a glorified body. That constitutes a new creature to me. Just as we are made new creatures after our death and burial with Christ at our water baptism into Him. (Rom 6:3) We and Jesus both walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:4)
