You should get that book. It is a very interesting take on Christology that seeks to unite the historical, in form of biblical studies, with a systematic approach. There has been a rather big chasm between biblical studies and systematic theology pretty much ever since the rise of historical-critical studies of the bible. Partly because historical-critical studies were at least partly inspired by a rather strong anti-ecclesial tone, wanting to get behind the dogmas of the church. Problem of course is that they ended up with a very fragmented theology, and Jenson summarizes the problem succinctly: Who is the subject of the gospel: "Jesus is risen"?

My summer break is just about over. I go back to school on Monday, and it's going to be a busy semester. Looking over my transcript, I realized I could be a December grad if I wanted to, but I'm going to leave it as is and just take some extra classes in the spring that would be helpful for my masters, and I may end up having enough for a minor. I need to talk to an advisor.

I don't know though, kmo. I don't think it's necessarily easy to go west when you were raised in the east. Of course it's very possible, lots of people including my own parents have done it, but the west is a different place.

I was only in Portland for the layover, but it's so beautiful. Had an "Aberdeen Big P Pilsner" and a BLTA sandwich at Henry's Tavern.
