So you have nothing.
That's what I thought.

We all agree some things are worth arguing over.TOL visitors,
The pronoun 'we' referred to more than the usual three or so.
Would anyone else like to suggest something in which 'we' might agree regarding our God?

I am very interested in the use of the concept of eating and drinking ... IOW partaking. I think you and I agree!!! Great.
In this way. See if I'm with you:
I believe partaking of the Lord's supper is an important symbolic ritual. I believe that you should already be a Christian to join in ... and should confess your sins to the Lord as you prepare to take it. I believe by joining the tradition Christ established does help one seek to know the Lord better ... and to be a better person.
I'm not Catholic so I don't think about the wine and bread literally turning into HIS blood and body., but I do get the symbolism of their wanting to become more like Christ. I like your thought of how this helps people understand more about him. So many traditions help man understand God ... Singing helms, coming together in worship, listening to preaching, praying, advent candles and once there was Easter and Christmas ... now they are Santa and the bunny. Sigh.
I think our God can teach us about himself in a number of other super-natural ways - even dreams and visions, a still small voice and just by imparting his thoughts directly to us. IOW, enlightening us even while reading scripture or looking at nature.
Yet, I do believe that scripture explains scripture and seeking him in it is important.
This is the best I can do to describe what I believe and do not believe:Is God in the bread?
$$ Lu 24:30
And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed [it], and brake, and gave to them.
$$ Lu 24:31
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him ... .
